ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY REPORT

Name: RECASA, ASHLEY NICOLE

Sex: Female
Age: 14.6-year-old
Date: 09/25/2021
Requested by: Rabanes, MD
Medication:
Test Notes: seizure

DESCRIPTION:
An EEG was recorded for approximately 30 minutes during wakefulness in this 14.6-year-old,
female with history of history.

The patient was awake at the start of the recording. In wakefulness, when the eyes were closed,
a symmetric reactive posterior background rhythm of 10-12 Hz activity were seen. The
background also showed semi-rhythmic 8-9 Hz over the frontal head region and low voltage 9-
12 Hz activity over the central head region. There was generalized low voltage 13-15 Hz activity
seen. Movement and muscle artifacts were also noted. During the wakefulness, there were
several bursts of asynchronous generalized high voltage spike and wave discharges seen.
These discharges were seen as the patient remained quiet. Theses discharges do not have
clinical events. The patient did not sleep during the recording.

Photic stimulation done at different flash rates did not elicit abnormal paroxysmal response.
Hyperventilation for 3 minutes also did not show any abnormality.
A single lead EKG monitoring showed a heart rate of 90 beats per minute.

INTERPRETATION:
The EEG is abnormal showing several bursts of generalized epileptiform discharges. There
were no clinical or electrographic seizures seen. Correlation with clinical history is suggested.
