Introduction

A computer network is a collection of computers that share resources shared by network nodes.
To communicate with one another, the computers use standard communication protocols across digital
linkages. Telecommunication network technologies based on physically wired, optical, and wireless
radio-frequency systems that can be assembled in a number of network topologies make up these
interconnections.
Personal computers, servers, networking hardware, and other specialized or general-purpose hosts
can all be nodes in a computer network. Network addresses and hostnames may be used to identify them.
Hostnames serve as memorable labels for nodes, and they are rarely modified after they are created.
Computer network is a group of devices connected with each other through a transmission
medium such as wires, cables etc. These devices can be computers, printers, scanners, Fax machines etc.
The purpose of having computer network is to send and receive data stored in other devices over the
network. Data communications and networking are changing the way we do business and the way we
live. Business decisions have to be made ever more quickly, and the decision makers require immediate
access to accurate in- formation.

Abstract

Computer networks are becoming more and more common. In today's world, a computer network
is much more than a collection of interconnected devices; it is a system of interconnected computers for
the purpose of sharing digital information, allowing businesses to analyze, organize, and disseminate data
that is critical to their success. The rise of intranets and internets is a significant aspect of computer
networking. Intranets and internets are private business networks that are based on the internet.
The computer networks also have become indispensable in a variety of areas, including human
communication, information collecting, exchange, and sharing, distributed work environments, and
access to remote resources (data and processing power), among others. The primary purpose of a
computer network is to share resources. Besides the computers, other types of devices can be part of the
network. In the early days of networking, there will be once central server that contains the data and all
the clients can access this data through a Network Interface Card.

Conclusion

Finally, a network is made up of two or more computers that are linked together via a
telecommunication system in order to communicate and share resources. Companies would not be able to
share resources and enhance efficiency as effectively if they did not have a network. The WAN network
allows businesses to connect to the Internet over long distances. This allowed the organization to hold
meetings in other countries via video conferencing and data exchange via the network. As you can see,
networks provide numerous advantages to end users. Networks are a vital element of technology, whether
they are wired or wireless.
