Title

Abstract

The purpose of the Experiment was to gain a comprehensive

understanding of Pant analyzing in garment. A Pant of garment was
taken to measure it’s different parts like knee opening, thigh, lower hip
and some other parts of that pant. We first got understand the parts and
then the measure of different parts of it was written to label the sketch
diagram. Had different designs of pant so every one will have different
procedure to be measured accurately.

Introduction Trousers (British English), slacks, or pants are an item

of clothing that might have originated in Central Asia, worn from the
waist to the ankles, covering both legs separately (rather than with cloth
extending across both legs as in robes, skirts, and dresses. Jeans, made
of denim, are a form of trousers for casual wear widely worn all over the
world by both sexes. Shorts are often preferred in hot weather or for
some sports and also often by children and adolescents. Trousers are
worn on the hips or waist and are often held up by buttons, elastic,
a belt or suspenders (braces). Unless elastic, and especially for men,
trousers usually provide a zippered or buttoned fly. Jeans usually feature
side and rear pockets with pocket openings placed slightly below the
waist band. It is also possible for trousers to provide cargo
pockets further down the legs.

Experimental Procedure

 Upper Waist: Measured by aligning the front and back waistbands

and measuring straight across the top of the waistband from edge to
edge.
 Lower Hip: This is obtained through the 3 point method using three
points of measure marked at a certain distance below the top waist at
the sides and CF. 19
 Thigh: This measurement is taken 2.5cm below the crotch seam,
perpendicular to the trouser leg from side to side.
 Knee Opening: This measurement is taken 30.5cm below the crotch,
and perpendicular to the trouser leg from side to side.
 Leg Opening: This measurement is taken horizontally across the
bottom edge of the leg opening.
 Front Rise: This measurement is taken at the centre front seam, from
the crotch seam to the top of the front waistband.
 Back Rise: This measurement is taken at the centre back seam, from
the crotch to the top of the back waistband.
 Inseam: This measurement is taken at the inner leg seam, from the
crotch seam to the leg opening.

.
Result from this experiment we get understand the measuring of different parts of garment
pants and also understood the garment pant parts and the switching of each and every
different parts of pant.

Discussion

From this experiment we concluded that every pant have a different type of stitch regard to it
parts. And each stitch of garment depends upon it quality and end uses. Lock stitch with
spreader is more strong than just a lock stitch. So pant durability depends upon the fabric
quality and stitch type .
