One cause and three effects of the lack of the power

 The lack of electric power has become an important problem in China. Even worldwide

gets the same problem. The growing population and economy mainly cause it. It affects

people’s lives in many ways—the daily power use and the industry. The cost of the power has

been improved, and some of the factories are limited to using power.

China is facing a shortage of electric power because the growing economy and

population need more electric power. More people means more daily cost, and we need

electric power to produce stuff. Today, about 1.4 billion people are living in China, according

to the population census. (Population comparison: China vs India - Global Times, 2021) Each one is

a consumer of electric power, divided into direct cost and a much more one which is the

indirect cost. Direct cost is daily electrical equipment use, such as computers and

smartphones. The indirect cost means what people eat and wear needs electric power to

make. It cost much more electric power than direct power using. For my personal life, I will

use a computer and smartphone for work. If the temperature is high, I will turn on the air-

conditional. Meanwhile, what I eat costs electric power to make, and so what I wear. Don’t

forget; the total electric power cost needs to multiply 1.4 billion times. What is more, the

number is still growing, and the growing need for electric power is happening worldwide.

The growing economy causes a shortage of electric power, and it will affect the

economy. It will cause the shock of the economy unless the government take some means to

solve it. The affection divides into two parts. The direct one is that may make some important

devices break down, and some important data will be lost. For example, in China, the biggest

video post website is Bilibili. Its sever turned down in July because of the lack of electric

power. (Qu, 2021) That night, many people watched videos and suddenly found they couldn’t
connect to the website, and I am one of them. The other side of its affection is that it might

block the growing economy. Factories need electric power to produce stuff. The transport to

translate stuff to the consumer. However, the shortage of electric power will block this

process. The transportation needs the electric power to run on normally. The factory needs

electric power for machines. So the people’s smartphone. In 2021, people buy their needs

mainly on the internet, at least in China. Without the power, the signal will be disappeared,

and the smartphone will run out of battery. The sudden cut of power will stop the stock

market. People will dump stock because of the lack of confidence in some power companies.

The economy would be shocked if the government didn’t make some solution. However, the

government in China have a high responsibility to the public. They take methods to stop this

situation from the beginning.

The basic public health service will be ruined. Without the power, most medical

machines such as CT, B-scan will not be able to use. The paints in ICU will dead with an

even short power cut. Without the hospital, those people who get damaged will not be able to

be well-cured.

To prevent this situation from happening. Our government take a lot of methods. The

limited production of the factory and urge people to save electric power use is just a part of

the new law. At the end of last year, all factories in Zhejiang province were ordered not to use

electric power. However, it is just a part of the methods. The government take many works to

narrow the affection of the lack of power. But the shortage of power still affects people’s life.

I still remember the day when I lived in my house, playing video games. Suddenly, all things

turn dark. Then, I went through the hottest night in my life. The lack of power still influences
people’s life. However, that happened last year if the public didn’t do anything to fix such a

situation. The sudden cut of electric power will only happen more and more in the future.

In short, the lack of electric power has affected people’s lives a lot. People should make

efforts to practice thrift power. With the lack of electric power, not only the daily will be

affected so the economy. With the growing need for power, the negative influence of the

absence of energy will only get larger. So not only the government should take methods, and

the public should take measures.
