PROJECT PROPOSAL
I. Title:
Science Camp for the YOUTH
II. Problem Statement

The pressure applied to students due to their academic performance which the
student carry and burdened in terms of the demands of time and energy for their specific
academic goal. This pressure may result into stress that may affect the student mentally,
emotionally and also to their academic performance.

II. Root Cause

Most of the students do not involve in extra-curricular activities because of some


constraints such as structural or the inability to provide equipment for the activity,
intrapersonal or the he factor that referring to someone though on something or an
event and are in the process of communicating with him or herself only, and
interpersonal constraints or the existence of external factors that influence a student
such as pressure, cultures, abilities and skills. With this, students tends only to focus in
terms of their academic performance and do not engage in extra-curricular activities.

III. Project Objective Statement

General Objective:

Students faces a lot of struggles academically, mentally and emotionally that


results into stress. The life stress on them is considerable. Therefore, understanding
the sources of stress among them and how they can cope with the stress is very
important. Such stress may usually cause psychological, physical, and behavioral
problems. With this, they should be brought up in the positive environment. More
emphasis should be given to the outdoor activities and create hostile learning
environment by minimizing the negative impact of stressors.

Specific Objective:

By the end of this project, participants and target beneficiaries are expected to:

1. Experience excitement, interest and motivation to learn about


phenomena in the natural and physical world
2. Utilize their talents and engage in activities that requires teamwork,
strategies, and critical thinking skill.
3. Be free from stress cause by the academic pressure.

IV. Rationale
The students who are struggling in their academic performance due to the pressure
cause by it are commonly the one who experiencing stress, wherein it affects them
emotionally, mentally and academically. Students tends only to focus in terms of their
academic performance and rarely participate in extra-curricular activities that may help them
to grow more and to discover their real talents this is because of their fear to failed in their
academics. From this, understanding the stressors of the student is vital. Schools should
brought a positive learning environment for the students, such as giving them outdoor and
extra-curricular activities that will lessen the stress and will serve as a helping tool for the
students to be more pro-active and to excel on the field where they are really talented of.

V. Project Beneficiaries

This project will benefit the students wherein they will be given the chance to relax
from the stress cause by their academic activities, and also this will help them to showcase
their talents regarding on the field where they can excel. Also, the school teachers will
benefit from this, teachers have given the chance to observe their students from this activity
and may help them to excel more additional to this teachers may learn about the different
character of his/her student. And lastly, this will benefit the parents of the students, with this
it will also help them to motivate more their children to participate where they can show their
talents.

The adviser will help and guide the organization in terms of on how the project will be
facilitated.
The organization leader leads the implementation of the project and assure to meet
the objectives within the given time.
The vice leader of the organization will focus on the materials that will be needed to
conduct the project.
The other officer will disseminate information about the project and the one who will
be facilitate it.

VII. Financial Plan

The total cost of the project is Php 0,000.00, which will be incurred in the school’s
Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), subject to existing rules and
regulations, and is based on the school’s AIP, APP and SIP. The breakdown of expenses is
presented in Appendix A.

VIII. Project Description

A good academic performance is vital in terms of the success of the student but on
the other hand focusing only on academic performance will not bring a student to its true
potential and may result into some problems such stress that cause by academic pressure.
Since it is the responsibility and role of the school to give a positive learning environment
and bring out the real potential of the student, extra-curricular activities such as science
camp will develop experience, skills and knowledge of the student adhere to this principle.
This project mainly focuses on sports, teamwork, and recreational activities such as activities
that require critical thinking skills in line with the concept of science. Additional to this,
involving students and their parents is a great strategy to make this project effectively
implemented. Not only students will be free from academic pressure but also it will help them
to make a stronger bond between their parents. Along with this, this project will allow the
teachers to observe more about the character of their students that may help them to devise
a plan for the learning strategy that they will implement in teaching.

IX. Strategies of Implementation

Prior to the implementation of the project teachers and student will be given an
orientation as initiated by the adviser of the organization, and the organization members and
coordinators. The orientation will focus on how the project will help the students to reduce
their stress through various activities from the project which involves, critical thinking skills,
teamwork, and creativity. It will also tackle on what will be the objective and purpose of the
project and how it will be beneficial to the participants.
After the orientation, teachers and the organization will engage in series discussion in
order to develop and contextualize on concrete planning in terms of the implementation of
the project or on how it will be done. Also, a consultative meeting and orientation with the
parents will also be conducted to ensure that they are aware on the nature aims, and
benefits of the project. Survey on the readiness of the parents and students will also be
conducted determine the challenges that may arise.
Along with this, for the effectiveness of the project it is ideal to conduct it every two
months. Hence the importance of outdoor activities such as camping must always
emphasise to students and to parents on how it will help the students to reduce stress from
academic pressure.

X. Sustainability, Monitoring and Evaluation

Prior to the implementation of the project, school head, teachers and organization
will conduct survey to students and to their parents regarding their willingness and their
perception of the project. With this an orientation with the parents and students will give
clarification on what will be the importance of the said project. Also, such evaluation on the
effectiveness of the project will be critical in the content and strategies. Along with this is
teachers may conduct observation on their students on how does the project influence their
behavior. From this the level of competence of the student academically and in extra-
curricular activities will be observed and measure through surveys that will be conducted
