“Why is there not one system that is most essential to survival of the human species?”

Because are connected to each other and it would not function if one system has a disorder. Example of this
is a kidney we all know that it is a part of the urinary system but if the kidney fails to function our other
system will affected also which can cause our death so there is no most essential system because all the
system are essential to our body.

Mendelian Genetics

1. In hypothetical plant, a serrated leaf margined plant, when crossed with a smooth leaf margined plant,
produces offspring with wavy leaf margin.

A. Identify the mode of inheritance

The mode of inheritance is incomplete dominance.

B. Two serrated plants, when crossed, will give what type of offspring?

Serrated plants, the trait is homozygous. Therefore producing offspring with the same phenotype as the
parents .

C. Two wavy plants will produce what possible kinds of offspring? Give ratios?
25% serrated: 50% wavy: 25% smooth. This is a hybrid cross, which will give a 1:2:1 ratio.

2. In cattle, coat color is inherited in a co-dominant fashion. Homozygous BB produces black coat, homozygous bb
produces white coat, and the heterozygous Bb produces roan coat. Give the phenotypic ratio of the offspring of
the following crosses:

A. BB x BB
B. BB x bb
C. BB x Bb
