Risk Management Plan

Risks:

Revisit the Anticipated Project Risks section of your Risk Management Project Roles and

Responsibilities assignment. Given the timeline that Eldon Tyrell has given you, are your initial

identified risks still valid? Why or why not? Do you foresee any additional risks?

The risks identified previously remain valid as they were standard risks such as having

one too many people involved in major communication, triple constraint, and technology bugs.

The mitigation plans for these risks also remain the same and should be followed closely and

updated if anything changes. The individuals responsible for the risks and communication also

remain the same. These are expected and safe to plan for however given the three-month

timeline for this project, naturally there were additional risks identified.

These newly identified risks include scope creep, inaccurate cost estimations, turnover

issues, interpersonal issues, and change resistance. These were zoned in on as a short

timeframe can cause additional stress and decrease the window for work to get done therefore

placing more pressure on speediness while maintaining, if not approving the quality of work.

Although there were a good number identified and added, they are easy to mitigate since they

will be strongly planned for. If the team follows the risks analysis and utilizes the mitigation and

actions plans set, they will not cause any setbacks for the project overall.
Sarabia, 2

Solutions:

For this section, create a table. In the left-hand column, create a list of all the risks you have

identified so far for this project. In the right-hand column, create a list of your proposed

solution(s) to each risk. These solutions must be detailed, including the resources or

communication that will be needed to mitigate the risks. Your solutions must also be practical.

Risk Mitigation

or virtually) with Rachel over any important

communication regarding expectations, changes, and

status updates).
Technology Bugs Engineers will provide full support in analyzing

identified bugs and finding the solutions to resolve

them. All bugs will be reported to the Project Manager

who will then relay and discuss with engineers.

Scope Creep Project Manager must create a detailed and through

project scope that targets the people involved and

includes all necessary expectations and requirements

from the client/stakeholders. Project scope must be

followed accurately and updated as necessary.

Inaccurate Cost Estimates Skilled experts will need to be relied on to provide

insight on cost estimates. The project Manager will

then also create a cost estimate and compare to

create a final cost estimate.

Staff Turnover + Unexpected Leave Project Manager needs to keep the team well

informed and motivated to ensure and create

dedication to the project and project timeline. Project

Manager is responsible in supporting the team and

keeping things progressive.

For unexpected leave, it is the staff’s responsibility to

disclose any expected time off required or possibility

of sudden separations. In the event of

unexpectedness, there needs to be a diversly trained

group of team members that can step in (in addition

to the project manager) to prevent any delays in work.

Interpersonal It is the Project Manager’s responsibility to keep high

morale on the team and to diminish any tension and

deescalate any interpersonal conflicts. The staff is

responsible to coming forward to the Project Manager

to repost any interpersonal conflict – Project Manager

needs to be open and available for these meetings.

Change Resistance The Project Manager needs to be through in

presenting, documenting, and explaining all required

changes to the project plan or scope. Each change

meeting needs to be ended with a moment for

questions and opinions from all team members to

work through any resistance or disagreements to keep

the entire project team in sync and on the same terms.

Action Plan:
Sarabia, 4

Now is the time to create an action plan for these risks. For this section, list all risks and rank

your risks from greatest to least (this can be in numerical format or in a list with the greatest

risks at the top). Once you have done this, provide a detailed action plan for each. Be sure to

state whether your chosen action is preventative or a contingency and why.
