INTRODUCTION

Accommodation and food service establishments use the Hospitality Information System,
which provides a comprehensive overview of information needs. Hardware, software, and
general applications that focus on computer-based property management systems for both front-
and-back-office functions are all covered under this umbrella term. In addition, it evaluates
computerized hospitality management systems. As a result, the term "information system" is
used to describe hotel sales computer applications, revenue management strategies, and
accounting applications.

Different information systems are used today to manage the hotel. The hotel's
management can easily process, store, and track all of the hotel's activities thanks to the
information system. It also makes data more accessible and allows for different types of analysis
to be performed on the data. In addition, an information system is essential for making decisions
for the establishment's day-to-day operations as well as its future planning.

OBJECTIVES

 To understand employee perception about the management information system.

 To identify the problems encountered by the staff in using the hotels computer systems.

 To determine employee way of communication with other departments, and

 To identify the number of rooms in the hotel.

Across from Marina Bay, this high-end hotel within a sprawling entertainment complex is 1 km
from greenhouses at Gardens by the Bay and 18 km from Singapore Changi Airport.
Polished rooms feature Wi-Fi, flat-screens and minibars, plus sitting areas and floor-to-ceilings
windows. Upgraded rooms add city or bay views. Suites have living areas, kitchenettes, saunas,
pianos and/or butler service. Room service is offered 24/7.

Amenities include restaurants, bars, cafes and lounges, as well as event space, a casino and a
museum. There's also a spa, a gym and an observation deck, along with a rooftop infinity pool.
Breakfast is available.

RESULTS

Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort (MBSIR), Singapore was one of the world’s most
challenging construction projects and the most expensive stand-alone integrated resort property
ever built. To secure this impressive site, Marina Bay Sands chose the CEM AC2000 access
control and security management system.

The powerful and fully integrated AC2000 access control system allows visitors, staff
and tourists to feel secure while enjoying the Marina Bay Sands Integrated resort. This site uses
a range of innovative AC2000 software modules including Visitor Management and is installed
with CEM intelligent hardware products including S610 intelligent IP card readers, fingerprint
readers and CEM's Power over Ethernet technology.

Marina Bay has over 750 CEM S610 access control readers installed. The resort also uses
over 100 S610f fingerprint readers to control access to restricted areas where an additional
biometric layer of security is required e.g. entrance into the casino vault. The MBSIR project
required integration with a number of external systems. CEM was required to integrate with the
Central Control and Monitoring System, (CCMS) the Key Safe Management System, the CCTV
system and the HR system amongst others.

Problems encountered by the staff;

Marina Bay Sands is Asia’s leading destination for business, leisure and entertainment,
offering a luxury hotel, convention center, premier shopping and dining, theatres and a world-
class casino. With IT systems spread throughout its vast resort, the Marina Bay Sands IT team
required a secure solution to enable them to access and support servers without having to travel
around the complex. With the RealVNC remote access software deployed throughout the entire
resort, problems and system maintenance can be performed remotely, maximizing staff
productivity.

Marina Bay Sands has three levels of gaming floor-space, hotel operations and a back of
house business unit, containing a number of departments such as Finance and Human Resources,
widely spread throughout its resort. A secure solution was required that would enable its small IT
team to maintain and manage computers in these areas. Deploying support staff to locations all
over the resort was proving a waste of already valuable resources and time. A solution that
dramatically reduced desk-side support visits, while also keeping guest disruption to a minimum,
was essential.

Rooms;

2, 561 rooms and suites.

There are five main types of rooms and several suites to choose from:

Deluxe Room – no bathtub

Premier Room – bathtub

Family Room – room, studio, or two bedrooms

Club Room – bathtub and access to Club55

Grand Club Room – bathroom, living room.

CONCLUSION

The point of sale system can be very useful and helpful because it allows businesses,
whether they are large or small. Payments for products and services will be easier to process.
Having a well-functioning point of sale system will allow you to ensure that all of the hotel's
business operations will run smoothly. For a small business like this, finding the right point-of-
sale system is critical. As a result, sales, inventory management, payment processing and more
will be centralized here.
It's a good idea for every company to have this kind of system in place. When it comes to
running a hotel, the implementation of a Property Management System (PMS) is crucial. The
PMS system ensures that the hotel's operations are running smoothly. You can see that every
hotel needs to have a specific piece of software to help with different tasks. The hotel staff can
perform their tasks more efficiently with the help of a property management system, or PMS.
PMS is capable of a wide range of tasks, including check-in and check-out of guests, reservation
management, room availability, and payment processing.

Making the hotel operation easier will result in a positive first impression from the
guests. Everyone knows that the first impression of a guest can make or break a hotel. Thanks to
a PMS, hotel departments will be able to communicate clearly in every aspect of their operations,
as well. Being able to use a PMS is crucial to the success of a hotel.
