ABSTRACT
The education dynamics are experiencing double disruptions due to information technology expansion and the Covid-
19 outbreak. Distance Education could be an option yet marked complex problems on learning activities. Guidance
and Counseling plays strategic roles to overcome online learning’s problems. On the other hand, Guidance and
Counseling have faced obstacles on shifting face - to face to online mediated counseling. The aims of the research
were 1) to discover a strategic format of e-counseling as an orientation for school counselor in Banjarmasin, 2) to
notice problems on e-counseling,. This research was a qualitative approach, using a survey method toward 16 school
counselors and an interview with 8 school counselors. The results depicted that 1) the strategic format of e-counseling
comprises services on study and personal problems. School counselors provide specialized content aim to preserve
mental health dealing with the pandemic, use social media which is dominated by Whatsapp application (for checking
students presence on online learning, means of greeting students, delivering guidance and counseling contents via
video call and chats, hotline service), create counseling contents such as quizzes, videos and home visit service. 2)
School counselors problems on online counseling are communication difficulties, internet network problems, learning
ineffectiveness, personal and behavior problems.

melakukan kontak setiap hari dengan peserta didik dan
orang tuanya melalui aplikasi sistem dukungan
terintegrasi yang disusun oleh sekolah.
