Assignment Mechanics of Materials Sem Jan 2021

Mechanics of materials is the study of the materials strength due to loads. The competency on the subject is the core for aircraft stress
analysts. Stress analysis is the most important aspect in aircraft structure design. Even though the aircraft structure is certified by structure
testing, to ensure the success of the tests all the structure must be analysed. To successfully carry out the analysis the stress analyst must
determine the loads that go through the structure, the size of the structure and the materials the structure is made of. For this assignment the
students are given the aircraft structure. The students are required to develop the matric from each structure, the loads, type of stress for the
loads, the possible materials to make the structure, the strength of the structure and how margin and factor of safety are determined.
