LOS ANGELES

By Eain Eain
Hey I’m Val! I’m from Los Angeles California! I’m 18 years old and
just graduated! I recently just moved into my new apartment which is
a few miles away from Hollywood! I’m and only child and my parents
recently moved back to Santa Monica! Follow along with me to see a
day in the life of me in LA!
My family and I would celebrate Christmas, halloween, thanksgiving, and etc each
year. We are also chritians so we would go to church every Sunday. During Christmas,
we would Gather our families and have a big family dinner then open presents.
During halloween we would dress up in costumes and scare kids. During
thanksgiving, we would eat turkey and gather family.
At school I did research on my home city and found out that LA is located in
the south of California and the second largest city is the US. LA is also known by
the name “ City of Angels”. It has a square mile of 566 and being the largest city
in California! LA is near the pacific ocean and lies in the basin of California. Los
Angeles County is also the most populous county in the United States.
LA is the largest city in California and the second largest in the US. Its 466
square miles and the 2nd largest city in US. The absolute location of LA is
34.0522° N, 118.2437° Wm. LA is mostly covered by mountains and it also
contains 2 mountain ranges, forests and many different types of bodies of
waters. The most important bodies of waters in LA include Castaic lake and
the Los Angeles River.
LA is a part of Southern California. Hollywood is also part of LA and is where
most popular movies and televisions were created. Even though Hollywood is
very crowded and busy it's still one of my favourites because it's a Hollywood
landmark and it's also very hilly, dry and pretty, especially at night. Another
region in Los Angeles is Santa Monica. Santa Monica is also another region in
LA. It has an area of 21.8 km² and it also has a beach.
LA has a lot of important vegetation such as chaparral and oak woodland.
These are one of the most important vegetations in LA because it not only
protects the erosion but also allows underground water to recharge yet allow a
habitat for animals. In addition oak woodland is also another very important
vegetation as it prevends erosions, water filtrations and it's a useful resource for
pollinating bees. It would be mostly dry out in the summer but temperature
usually changes from time to time. But it would mostly be temperate, warm and
dry especially in the summer.
In LA we mostly speak English and we usually practice christianity. Christianity
is one of the most common religions we practice in LA. Christian people usually
wear some special clothing such as the necklace with a cross on it and yes the
one i'm currently wearing. The reason for the cross is because Jesus Christ
passed away from crucifixion on the cross and we wanted to represent Jesus
Christ in a way so that's the reason for the cross sign. There are also of course
some dress codes and I mostly would wear a simple dress that covers my
shoulders and has an appropriate length which is below the knee. We also go to
church every Sunday and we would sit and read the bible.
Our environment and air in LA isn’t the best. That's mainly because people
pollute a lot which makes the air outside toxic and unhealthy. There is also some
stuff people do which changes the climate such as greenhouse gases and pests.
Littering is also very common in LA and they either throw trash on the streets or
oceans but people can litter anywhere like in vehicles, places and many more.
That is mainly how we change the environment in LA.
Polluting, pests and greenhouse gasses can affect people in many dangerous
ways. Toxic smoke can affect people with asthma and other lung issues which
makes it difficult for them to breathe in the future or long term lung issues.
Littering can also lead to unhealthy issues because once people litter the trash
they throw either goes into the ocean or land which makes it worse because
bacteria and toxicness from the trash can easily get inside the human body
especially when humans touch or get close contact with it. It can also be riskier
for people who are dealing with lung, cardio or any long term health issues. These
are the ways human environmental interaction can affect us.
Oof! What a long journey exploring a day in the life in LA! I hope you
enjoyed this little tour or learned some news stuff about LA! LA is a big
area and a large city. There could be some information that I might
have not included yet. If the pandemic is over you could come visit LA. I
am pretty sure that LA is a great city with great services as you can see
in my essay. Have a nice day!
