PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF WASH

FACILITIES AND CONSTRUCTION OF FOOT BATH FOR SCHOOL

DISINFECTANT AND SCHOOL ENTRANCE IMPROVEMENT

I. RATIONALE

As the School Year 2020-2021 about to commence on August 24, 2020, schools
need to make sure that everyone will be secure and safe from the threats of COVID- 19.
Since there is no vaccine yet to prevent the spread of this kind of disease, certain
measures need to be undertaken and met. The risk of contamination is especially high
when students will be back in school, so school administrators and teachers should
make the learners’ safety a priority. Thus, the Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School
– TUMAGA ANNEX seeks ways and means in order to improve the access to adequate
water supply and wash facility for students and teachers use. The school currently have
two lavatories that serve as a wash area on its temporary site situated in NIA Covered
Court, Tumaga, Zamboanga City. However, there is a need to add more wash facilities
and footbath for disinfectant in the site in order to facilitate the growing number of
students this school year.
Wash facility is essential in every school. It guarantees the safety of each
student in terms of health. Handwashing is one of the best way to remove germs, to
avoid getting sick, and to stop the spread of the germs to others. In order to do
handwashing, wash facilities should be available for use in our school at all times.
Footbath ensures the safety of the teachers and students as it prevents
contamination inside the school premises by disinfecting their shoes.
Thus, the school needs to procure the materials for the above-mentioned project
to be able to cater the needs of the students and to make sure that their health, learning,
and safety are our utmost priority.

II. OBJECTIVES:

A. Construct wash facilities ( 5 lavatory),

B. Install five faucets in each lavatories,
C. Check and fix water pipes and faucets,
D. Install additional water pipe for adequate water supply, and
E. Fabricate a sturdy footbath frame/ holder made of cement,
