Mitigation Measures to Fight COVID-19 With

Limited Resources
In This situation in Bangladesh is rapidly evolving and it is comparable to many other countries, such as
France and Japan, which have recently been hit hard by the virus. In this situation, most prudent
governments must first save lives, and wait for business losses to be calculated. Under this provision,
businesses will choose a total lockdown for an undeclared period at very high financial cost. Some
countries, such as Italy and Spain, have already taken such a step. In fact, without providing any effective
therapeutic strategy for COVID-19, lockdown is probably the most well-known measure that can
alleviate the situation. However, in Bangladesh, where a significant proportion of the total population
lives face to face, lockdown is not a real concept. Without any savings and work, how can poor and
marginalized people feed themselves. This is a problem that the government must address when
declaring a lockdown or state of emergency that may remain in place for 2 or more weeks. With the help
of the armed forces, the government may consider introducing a "hygienic" ration system in the event
of a lockout for an extended period of time.
