Dear Visitor,

In my E-Portfolio, you will find all of the work I have completed over the semester and how I

have evolved as a writer and a thinker. The first section is the about me section, clearly from the

title I tell you a little bit about me. The second section is Informal Writing. This includes my

“daybook” entries over the course of the semester. The daybook entries were a helpful way for

me to organize my thoughts, whether they related to the prompt or not. We were always given the

option to write about what we desired at that moment. I chose three entries that really stood out

to me. The next section is Studios. Each studio had a distinct purpose that helped me grow into a

better reader and writer. I reflected on what I learned from each of them. The next section is my

Literacy Narrative. This was the first writing assignment for the class. The main purpose of the

essay was to write about a time when I used reading, writing, or language. The Question

Proposal tab illustrates the process of how I came up with my Research Inquiry Essay question.

The Research Inquiry Essay was a long-term project that took several steps to complete. I spent

weeks properly formatting an annotated bibliography, accumulating research from different

databases, and formulating a final draft. Also in this section, I have my revised narrative

introduction paragraph where I take more of a storytelling approach rather than asking a

question. I hope you enjoy looking over all my hard work!

This class has taught me a lot about writing. For example, the studios, peer review, proofreading,

asking questions, and discovering writing can never be wrong. Writing is a form of expression

and it means different things to different people. Peer review helped me a lot when it came to

reading others’ work and giving constructive criticism. I also learned a lot from reading

mypeer’ss work and using some of their writing strategies in my own writing. Another useful

assignment was the annotated bibliography and creating my own citations. I know that in my
future years in college it will be a useful skill. Knowing how to properly cite sources will allow

me to be a more successful student. The most important work I did in this class was the Research

Inquiry project. It taught me how to create a distinct inquiry topic that I could generate more

questions from. My goal as a writer is to learn as much as I can, so I can be educated. The

Inquiry Project was also my most important work because it allowed me to slow down, and

thoroughly complete each step of the assignment. In the past, I had the tendency to rush through

my work just to say its complete. The detailed steps of this project forced me to slow down and

give each part the same amount of effort. I would say my biggest strength as a writer is being

clear and making my ideas simple to understand. My biggest weakness as a writer is that I

struggle with word choice. I want to sound informed and educated in my writing by the words I

use. This semester I feel that I have become better but as I continue to write, I hope to widen my

vocabulary. This final reflection was pretty simple to write. I enjoyed reflecting on all of my work

from this semester and I feel optimistic for my future as a writer. Moving forward I want to take

the basic writing skills and examples given to me, to improve the way I think when it comes to

composing an essay.
