Narrative Composition

Online mode of examination is the worst system of education I have ever seen in my life where
honesty cannot be identified and often the dishonest is proven to be honest and vice versa. It also
become too difficult to address oneself to be honest and in some cases it becomes impossible.

Such was my situation while the pre boards was organized in our school. Although it was conducted
in online mode yet we were called to school for the analysis of the question paper and letting us
know the marks as well. Among all the marks I was amazed at the sight of getting 80/80 in
mathematics. I am always against cheating and myself knew that if I have cheated in pre boards I
would not have been confident in the boards which is our main aim. I, being a little weak in
mathematics according to the past records, few of my classmates alleged me that I had gone
through cheating.

Initially I was enraged at them at such an allegation. But seeing the teacher’s support besides them I
started to bear it patiently thinking how to prove myself to be true. Gradually a number of students
joined my group who were alleged to have cheated. We tried to console the teachers but it was of
no use. Then all of us urged the teacher to take a mini test of 20-30 marks so as to judge us in front
of him. I had confidence on myself and on my practice in mathematics for the entire year. Our
teacher told us to wait after school for an hour for the test. A couple of cronies opposed this act of
the teacher yet he stayed unmoved.

The test was a matter of self-respect so I was little doubtful of whether I would get full marks or not.
This suspiciousness grasped my mind as soon as I got the question paper. I wasn’t able to do the first
10 marks at all. I calmed my mind down and solved the latter 10 marks with ease. Then I continued
with the first half gradually I was able to solve all when the time was up. I thanked God for being
able to complete the paper. Still I was auspicious whether I have done any silly mistake or not. When
it was announced that I got 18/20, I thought I was not able to convince the teacher but he told me
that I have done little calculation error maybe due to the pressure of maintaining the self-respect. I
came back home with a relieved mind.

Few of the other students came out to have cheated as they have got eight or six out of twenty
which is convincing to prove their dishonesty. Unless we are back to our offline system of education
the assessment of students is going to be a difficult task.

Dear Mam,

I am a student of class 10A of your school. I want to draw your attention to our request of extending
the date of submission of the project given to us by the school.

Since we haven’t had any physical classes since the start of this academic session, when the topic
was given the teachers told us that the detailing would have been done on physical classes as was
assumed at the beginning of this span, but as gradually the time went on the teachers the now
telling to submit the projects as soon as possible. It has become a hectic task for all of us. Amongst
the study for boards the project work has become an extra piece of load which would have been
relieved if the dates are extended a little. If a person spends a continuous week on projects much of
the study might have been forgotten by him as study is a matter of rigorous revision.

I hope you will address this issue on priority and anticipating a positive response.
