Answer one of the following questions (15-20 lines)

1. What are the new things that you learned about the nature of
mathematics?

2. What aspect of the lesson significant changed your view about

mathematics?

3. What is the most important contribution of mathematics in humankind?

ANSWER:
ACTIVITY 1.1

1. Mathematics exposes underlying patterns that assist us in comprehending

our surroundings. Mathematics, as a discipline of abstract objects, uses logic
rather than observation as its standard of truth, but it also uses observation,
simulation, and even experimentation to discover truth.

2. As I grew older, those younger than me began to question why they needed
to learn the topic. That is why I kept thinking about what to say to them and
how they would use it in their daily lives. What is it about math that has
impacted your perspective on it in real life? What role will math play in our
world's future? Is mathematics education's future still important in light of
shifting curricula? These inquiries may stay in your mind. But I believe that
what math truly gives to people who understand and apply it well is the ability
to solve issues, sometimes utilizing patterns and other times by trial and error.
The skills obtained in mathematics classes can be applied in real-life
circumstances, particularly in many domains of work. This is due to the
changes and improvements in mathematics in the twenty-first century, which
strive to improve students' abilities. It is gradually shifting its attention away
from computations and toward difficulties that need critical thinking, logic,
reasoning, and perseverance. Hopefully, with this in mind, kids' previously
terrible ideas will be replaced with feelings of joy. And as more math
instructors are trained, may they be good vessels of learning, full of joy and
patience, so that students would enjoy math even at an early age. Yes,
mathematics will still be a challenge, but thinking about its lifelong benefits
will greatly ease the burden of anyone studying and teaching it.

3. Mathematics is the systematic presentation of information. Mathematics

makes a guy more methodical and systematic, and it organizes and prevents
chaos in our lives. Certain qualities, such as creativity, logic, abstract or
spatial thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving, as well as good
communication skills, are cultivated when studying mathematics. Math is the
mother of all inventions; the world would not move an inch if it were not for
mathematics. Every day, arithmetic is used by farmers, doctors, engineers,
scientists, musicians, and magicians. Insects, too, rely on mathematics to
survive. Snails, spiders, and bees, for example, make hexagonal combs. In
nature's fabric, there are numerous examples of mathematical patterns. A solid
mathematics curriculum is beneficial in both teaching and learning the
subject. According to experts, including mathematics in your curriculum might
make your life easier and more pleasurable. Many children are inspired by
math puzzles and riddles, which help them develop their critical thinking
skills.

Learning Activity 1.2

Synthesis

I. Write synthesis about all the things that you learned about nature’s
numbers.
II. It is highly recommended that at the outset, an outline must be made.
III. Please ensure that topic sentence can be clearly understood.
-Your topic sentence must be supported by at least three arguments.
IV. Your synthesis must be around 1400-1500 words.

ANSWER:
SYNTHESIS
The universe appears to be arranged in a very mathematical fashion to
humans. Falling bodies accelerate at predictable rates. Eclipses can be
predicted hundreds of years in advance. Nuclear power plants use well-known
formulas to create electricity. But those examples are the tip of the iceberg.
Mathematics is one of those ideals that is simple enough to make our life easy
and uncomplicated. It played a significant impact in making the world into the
advancements that it is now. However, there are a few typical queries that the
general public has. Typically, people will inquire, "Do I require Mathematics
when doing housework?" or "Do I need to calculate the formula before
purchasing products?" It may appear sardonic and absorbent, yet it is a
significant statement. Mathematics is more valuable than what we previously
learned about it. It's as though we're trying to wrap our heads around
something. And what is that something? Mathematics. Some people have found
it difficult, however it is very dependent on the individual (Benecerraf, P.1991).
Nature's Numbers connects readers to the beauty of mathematics as revealed
by mathematics and the beauty of nature as revealed by mathematics. How
does nature deal with patterns? Its quantitative and geometric forms, as well as
its movements. The book begins with an introduction to natural patterns that
humans may see. Numerical patterns, form patterns, movements (translation,
rotation, reflection), and shapes are so common in nature that it's difficult to
miss them. Zebras and tigers have stripes, leopards and hyenas have spots,
and stars move across the sky. The number of seeds in a sunflower's head, the
shape of a snowflake, and even colored arcs of light adorning the sky as
rainbows all follow a pattern. “Mathematics is the science of patterns, and
nature exploits just about every pattern that exists,” Ian Stewart famously said.
From the tiniest seashell to the leaves and branches of vast trees, mathematics
became the key to unlocking the riddle underlying the patterns that recur in
nature. “Nature's patterns are not merely there to be appreciated, they are
vitals clues to the rule that governs natural processes,” writes Johannes Kepler
in The Six Cornered Snowflakes - Motion of Stars. I believe he was trying to
convey to us that there is so much beauty in nature's clue. Mathematics is like
a novel that teaches us how to live a more convenient and innovative existence.
Patterns are a systematic system of thought for organizing and systematizing
concepts. It implies that we are given the option to employ those patterns.
Patterns have both forms and motions. It allows us to contribute to the global
society by using math to tackle complicated problems in a complex world.
Finally, I feel sure in stating that everything that mathematicians do has an
impact on every area of our world. It makes no difference how big or little
anything is; what counts is its worth. It allows our minds to address problems
in a variety of ways. It does not take years to get enough skilled in
mathematics.
