The Difference of the Novel “Pride and Prejudice from the “Pride and Prejudice
Film Adaptation”.

Introduction:

The “Pride and Prejudice is an 1813 romantic novel of manners written by Jane Austen. The
novel follows the character development of Elizabeth Bennet, the dynamic protagonist of the
book who learns about the repercussions of hasty judgments and comes to appreciate the
difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness. Its humour lies in its honest
depiction of manners, education, marriage, and money during the Regency era in Great Britain.

Pride & Prejudice is a 2005 romantic drama film directed by Joe Wright, in his feature directorial
debut, and based on Jane Austen's 1813 novel of the same name. The film features five sisters
from an English family of landed gentry as they deal with issues of marriage, morality and
misconceptions.

Body:

What I notice about the movie and from the novel is very noticeable once you see it because
even though they have the same parts of the novel to the film they still have a big difference,
like for example in the film the Pride & Prejudice Changed the 1813 Setting And Costumes the
reason for this is that they were changing the time period from 1813 to the 1790s. and also the
films Character which is Elizabeth was more mature, they made the character more mature
because I think they want more people to get interested in watching the movie. The Director Joe
Wright Cut Several Minor Characters, the main reason why he did this is because they can only
put limited time for the movie so they have no choice but to cut out some of the minor
characters that are in the novel so that they can fit the time limit for the movie.

Conclusion:

My conclusion for the “Pride and Prejudice” is that Jane Austen created a romantic story that
became popular because of the author’s sense of humor and skillful way of storytelling. She
created strong, ambitious, intelligent, and independent characters that attracted readers around
the world and made the story unforgettable. Moreover, the narrative contains a lot of historical
information that shows people’s life in England in the 19th century. Therefore, it is highly
recommended for reading to everyone who wants to have a good time and receive some
historical knowledge about the society of Great Britain in an entertaining way.
