Date : 2 April 2014

Time : 8.45-9.45 a.m.

Subject : Physical Education

Class : 2 Mantap

School : Sekolah Kebangsaan Permatang Tok Dik

I was teaching a class 2 strong this morning. The lesson started at 8.45 am and

lasted for an hour. The class had 38 students and quite a lot and requires a high

attention. The title chosen today was “ memusing dan mengilas ”. The focus of the

lesson was the students should be able to turn and tight the activities. The Content

Standard was "be able to do a variety of non-locomotors movements with the behavior

of a proper foundation. The objective of the lesson was, by the end of the lesson, pupils

should be able to participate in the activities as instructed by the teacher.

The lesson started with gathering the students in front of the classroom. After

that the students were taken to the field accompanied by teacher. This was done to

prevent the students run to the field without the supervision of a teacher. It will ensure

the safety of pupils. Most of the pupils were excited to learn physical education and they

have shown a keen interest. After a few minutes, they were at the field and ready to
learn. For introduction, I asked the pupils to warm up their body. They were asked to do

a few steps in warming up. The warming up session took 5 minutes and it was a

dynamic warming up. The students asked to do some activities such as walking like an

elephant, skipping like a kangaroo, swimming at the sea and flying like a bird. They

enjoyed the activities. However, there were some students tried to play around and

refused to listen to my instructions. I kept remind them to do the activities seriously.

Sometimes, I had to blow my whistle for a few times and they started to grumble among

them. For the practice, I asked the student to use the ball and the rattan hoop. They

required to hand the things to their friend by twist their body. The activities were done

for a couple minutes. They kept doing the activities with “ ansur maju” . For the last

stage, the pupils were asked to play poisonous ball with their group. After a few

minutes, the pupils were asked to cool their body and back to their classroom.

For this week, I have learnt the importance of using a whistle in controlling the

pupils for physical education lesson. The students might be enjoyed the lesson and

sometimes I need to stop them in order to avoid sports injuries. I need to monitor the

student at all the times since they are Year 2 students which are still young.
