Anglers Quest Rayburn Individual 1st Series # 4

Tommy Hill WINS!!

Anglers Quest 2011 Individual 1st Series # 4 was held on Lake Sam Rayburn at the Umphrey Pavilion
April 3, 2011. The event hosted thirteen anglers who showed up to fish for the $1245.00 purse. This 4th event  Tommy Hill brought in First Place at
of 2011 was started as a trailering event because of very high winds predicted for the day. The anglers were Angler’s Quest on April 3
allowed to travel to a ramp of their choice and leave at 6:45 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 3:15 pm.
Lake Sam Rayburn’s water was in good shape at about 7.60 feet below normal pool level with water temps
running 64-66 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a windy 64 degrees with a warming to 81 degrees by weigh
in time. The fish catching continued to be very good on Big Sam as there were 11 bagged limits brought to
the scales, for a total of 55 bass at 144.38 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales on Sunday weigh
2.62 lb.
Tommy Hill from Kountze, Tx ran his Bullet/Mercury bass rig to various grassy southern lake areas and
caught his bass with his line tipped with Bill Lewis Rattle Traps in 3-5 ft of water. Hill managed to cull several
times during his day to finish in first place with 21.01 lbs that made him $750.00 for his day on the water.
Joe Layton from Jasper, Tx ran his bass rig to mid-lake points over grassy areas to catch his bass throwing
small cranks & traps in 4-7 ft of water. Layton managed to catch several keepers to finish in second place with
his best five at 17.53 lbs and netted him $300.00 for his day of fishing.
Mike Dorcz from Humble, Tx ran his Bullet/Mercury bass rig to areas on the south end of the lake and
finished his day in 3rd with 5 bass at 15.28 lbs. Danny Cross from Lufkin, Tx finished in 4th with five bass at
14.49 lbs, with one at 7.51 lbs landing him the Big Bass title.

Anglers Quest will be at El Dorado Jack’s on Lake Conroe on April 9th for the 4th event of the 1st series Any Individual entering 4 of the 1st series of the Rayburn Individual Series events will automatically
of the Saturday Series events. Then on April 16th & 17th A/Q will be at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake qualify for the 2-day Sam Rayburn Championship. The Top Individual in points will be declared the Angler
Livingston for the 4th event of the Saturday & Individual 1st series. Then on April 30th & May 1st A/Q will be of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2012 Rayburn Individual Series events. The Individuals
back at home on Lake Houston for the 4th team Saturday & Individual events. Anglers Quest is now accepting entering 7 Rayburn Individual 1st & 2nd series events will automatically qualify for all 4 of the Lake Series
