African
elephants are
not much
different from
my family.I
know it sounds
weird,but
watch closely
and you will
see!
 The male
elephant can be
13 feet tall.The
female is 8 feet
tall.That is a 5 feet
difference.That is
kinda like my
mom and dad.
 African elephants
are getting weaker
and weaker, because
they are scared to
find food.People are
coming to kill them for
their ivory tusks .Help
these poor animals!
Males fight
with their
trunks to
protect their
family.Why
can’t our dads
be like that?
They travel in 37 different states in Africa like Burundi,
Zimbabwe and Angola.We as in my family go on trips
as well.
African
elephants can
run 25 miles per
hour when
scared or
angry.
I am a pretty
fast runner
myself.
Their tusks fall of
after a year. By
the way tusks are
white horns on
the nose.
They eat 16 hours
a day.That is a lot of
food 300pounds.
They eat things like
grass fruit and
reeds.That is how
much my brother
eats in a week!!

you.It is mostly muscle
like my cousin.
African
elephant’s trunk
is 8 feet long and
they use it for
eating, drinking,
and fighting.That
is a lot to do with
one part of the
body like dad is
with his hands.
African elephants are
not dry but very
moist.Hard to believe I
know.Mud does the
trick.Just like my mom’s
lotion.
African elephants are very
different animals.They are
just like my family.I hope
