CHAPTER I

BACKGROUND AND ITS SETTING

I. INTRODUCTION

"The World is ruled by power and power is obtained by money", a qoute

from Tadeusz Borowski. Money is considered a need of the people because

money makes everything move. Money let us buy our foods and drinks and pay

our transportation to arrive at our destination. Money circulates in the

community not just in the way people commonly know. There is an institution

where transactions are done making the money circulate, the bank.

As observed nowadays, there are issues that came out in banking

transactions like withdrawing money without a face or withdrawing two-faced

money. After observing and analyzing situation, we have thought of the bank

tellers that is one of the personnels in banking transactions.

Bank tellers or known as tellers are mostly assigned in the front desk to

help you in depositing money, paying checks, and in other banking transactions.

Tellers are also the one who count the money that came in and out of hte bank

and balance it. If there are failures in the bank, they are usually the first to be

affected.

This research is made to know the real life of Bank Tellers inside their

workplace. How they interact with costumers, react upon having problems and

how they face those problems. This is to know and understand them more. And

also, the relevance of this study to the researchers is that it is one of the paths

of an ABM student. And through this, sudents, not just ABM students can get

idea of what Bank Tellers really do.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Inspite of our growing economy today, there are still failures in banking

transactions. This study aims to understand the experiences of Bank Tellers and

how they handle things in those kind of situation. Specifically, the researchers

wanted to know what Bank Tellers do if there is a case like unbalanced

transactions between money and recorded files.

STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES

This study will explore the real-life experiences of Bank Tellers. This will

give information on how Bank Tellers do their works; assisting clients, checking

checks and bills and accounting.
