Answer the following.


A. In a biology class, a group of students brought 10 lizards for their experiment.
They measured the weight and the length of the body of each lizard from the tail
to the nose. The findings were presented below.

Compute for the r and interpret the result.

Interpretation: The weight and length of each lizard's body have a significant positive
correlation.
B. In a biology class, a group of students brought 10 guinea pigs for their experiment.
They measured the weight and the length of the guinea pig from the tail to the nose.
The findings were recorded below.
1. compute the slope and the y-intercept of the regression line

2. develop the regression model

3. interpret the slope and the y-intercept

Slope: We estimate that if the Guinea Pig's Body length increases by 1m,
the guinea pig's weight will increase by 0.84.
Y-intercept: If the Guineapig's body length is 0,the weight of the guinea pig
will be 0.01.

4. predict the weight when x = 8.5 and x = 10

The regression equation is y = 0.01+(0.84) x


x= 8.5 : 0.01 + (0.84) (8.5)
= 7.15 or 7
x=10 : y = .01+ (0.84) (10)
= 8.41 or 8

C. The researcher wants to know if the age gaps of partners affect the length of their
relationships. Is there a significant relationship between the age gap and the
length of relationships of partners? The collected data from 15 partners were
summarized below:

D. In a certain high school, the heights of the students are normally distributed with a
mean of 160 cm and a standard deviation of 10 cm.
a. Find the probability that a randomly selected student will be less than 158
cm tall.
b. Find the probability that a randomly selected student will be taller than 164
cm.

c. Find the probability that the height of a randomly selected student will be
between 156 cm and 165 cm.
