Breakdown
The concept of Floppy Sprinkler is unique. The flow of water is evenly
TECHNOLOGY controlled and guarantees a constant flow moving through the silicone
tube in order to cut the stream into even sized droplets, like rain –
ensuring a very high efficiency with minimum evaporation loss due to
little or no mist formation.

The silicone tube has a life expectancy in excess of 30 years. The

sprinkler has a 90% application efficiency and up to 40% energy saving.

The sprinkler is sold with a 5-year guarantee against manufacturing

faults.

1 WATER SAVING
The Floppy sprinkler cuts water into uniform droplets, simulating rain, with no mist
formation blown away by wind. There is no evaporation caused by heat either. The
South African Water Research Commission confirmed efficiencies of up to
90% from a 4-meter height. Direct water saving of up to 40% can be achieved.

2 ENERGY SAVING
Due to lower operating pressure and water saving, substantial energy saving of 25 -
30% is achieved.

3 LABOUR SAVING
The Floppy system is permanently installed. No labour is required to remove or re-install
irrigation equipment in-field. The system can further be automated and remote
controlled, resulting in easy management for operations.

4 LOW MAINTENANCE
The system is robust and has no moving, wearing or corrosive parts. The pump and
motor to run the system are the only wearing parts. Little maintenance is required.
System can be fixed with basic tools - screwdriver, clamp and spade, and unskilled
labour.

5 FLOW CONTROLLED
The Floppy sprinkler has a built-in flow controller. This ensures accurate irrigation even
on slopes and steep gradients. Flow rate is within 5% band from 2 to 6 bar. Accurate
fertigation, pesticide and foliar feed can be applied through the system.

The precipitation rate is 5mm per hour, which is ideal (even for heavy clay and sandy loose
soils). The Floppy Sprinkler Irrigation system can accurately apply the exact amount of
water needed per day, with 90% application efficiency, which is incomparable with other

7 APPLICATION FOR FERTILIZERS,

PESTICIDES, AND FOLIAR FEEDING
The Floppy Sprinkler Irrigation system is a fixed system and the sprinklers have an even
and equal flow due to the Flow Regulator, making it suitable to apply liquid fertilizer,
pesticides and foliar feeds through the system. Dust is washed away from the leaves in
order to achieve ideal photosynthesis of the plant.

resulting in healthy plants; maximizing yields with less water used per ton. Yields under
the Floppy system are even and homogeneous if soils are even. Due to even distribution
of water over the entire land, the root system of the plant spreads widely (total root area
irrigation), which makes it possible to absorb a larger quantity of water and nutrients from

 26 PLANT COOLING
When temperatures reach 35 degrees Celsius or higher during extremely hot
conditions, the stomata of the plant leaves close and photosynthesis ceases. This
means that the plant stops growing and results in a loss of production. Temperature
reductions of 20-25 degrees Celsius have been recorded when using the Floppy
Sprinkler Irrigation system for cooling. Cooling is done through short irrigation cycles
to manage the temperature. The Floppy Sprinkler irrigation system is also used for frost
protection during the cold winter months to protect the plant from frost damage.
