III. DISCUSSION:

When inductors are connected in series, the sum of all individual inductors'
inductance is the equivalent inductance of the combination. This is the same as
series-connected resistors' equivalent resistance. However, in the case of
inductors, the effect of mutual inductance between the inductors must
occasionally be considered. The inductance of each inductor is then calculated by
taking into account both its self-inductance and mutual inductance. Depending on
the polarity of magnetically connected inductors, the mutual inductance will be
added or subtracted from the self-inductance. The effect of mutual inductance
will be discussed later in this text. We can now write the equivalent inductance of
series-connected inductors as, without considering mutual inductances.

When inductors are connected in parallel, the reciprocal of the

combination's equivalent inductance is the total of the reciprocals of the
individual inductances. This is the same as parallel-connected resistors' equivalent
resistance. If necessary, we may also need to examine the effect of mutual
inductance in the same way. The effect of mutual inductance on parallel inductors
will be discussed later in this article. We can write, without taking into account
the impact of mutual inductance.

IV. CONCLUSION:

Therefore, inductors are electrical devices made up of a coil of wire wound

around a core. The core material can be non-magnetic like wood or plastic, or
magnetic material like iron or steel. Inductors made with non-magnetic cores are
called air-core inductors, while those with iron and steel are iron-core inductors.
