Project Introduction
Library management systems are designed to manage the movement of books and
maintain records of the members in a library. The software solution is designed based on
the system requirements, the people involved, the content of the operation and the
activity to be performed.
The system requirement in library management focuses on the possibility of search for
books by title, author or subject by the member. Overall, this project is developed to help
the students as well as staff of library in the best way possible. All the library data is
computerized and this system is used to track details of books like issue and return dates.

Problem Identification
As currently we have been facing through Covid-19 global pandemic problem, so
colleges are closed due to lockdown. Many students are studying through online classes
and they are facing problem to obtain study materials and books for their study.
Also many other problems has been identified in current system. The catalogue is
often out-of-date; updating is time consuming and only takes place when the staff have
time. The process for recording loans, returns and recalls is time consuming and slow.
Searching through catalogue, borrower and loan records is often long and time
consuming. Finding out whether a book is available for loan is tedious and often only
possible by looking for it on to the shelve. Sometimes the borrower needs to be fine
which need to be calculated manually and is error prone.
Thus for ease for management and to supply books and study materials to students for
online study, the need for an electronic system is necessary which is more speedy and
reliable.

Project Scope:
This project aims in establishing a computerized library management, including borrower
records, loans, over dues and fines as well as providing online services to students. The
project is specifically designed for the use of librarians and library users. It will contain a
complete user interface for library management process and library usage from ordinary
users. It can be used to manage and provides services also through internet to students
and is useful for any institute.

The main objective of this project is to manage the library system which include all this
feature:
 To digitize the process of recording loans, returns and recalls.
 To store and retrieve book items efficiently.
 To manage the particular records of the students.
 To generate the report on borrowers and loan records of books.
 To provide the details of issue book.
 To provide online books and services.
