Performance Task #1

Narrative Report

A. Interview a physically active person that you know. Ask the interviewee for information on
the following areas listed below. Write a narrative about the interview and report your
findings through video presentation. Include areas you think the individual can work on and
personal lessons learned from the interview. Don’t FORGET to document your narrative
report.

An Interview from Catherine Mendoza (my aunt) she always exercise every afternoon.

1. Reasons for adopting a healthy lifestyle

It's all too easy to push physical activity and exercise to the bottom of your long to-do list.
However, staying active is one of the most essential things you can do for your health, and
you should do it every day if you can.
While you may not be able to cut back on other responsibilities, you may attempt to fit in
brief bursts of exercise into your hectic schedule. Every little bit helps.
If you do the following, you're more likely to succeed in incorporating exercise into your daily
routine:

● consult an accredited exercise physiologist or physiotherapist for advice on

exercising safely and avoiding injury. Or watch videos from youtube about
recommended exercises.
● choose activities that appeal to you
● track your progress (and feel good about your achievements!)
● learn an exercise or two you can do quickly and easily for days when you’re feeling
particularly time-poor
● devise a realistic exercise plan for your lifestyle and routine.

Remember, any exercise is better than none, and if you just have a few minutes, you can
make it brief and simple. Making time for physical activity on a daily basis will help you
achieve improved long-term health.

2. Benefits acquired from the change

Being active provides so many benefits. It can:

● improve your long-term health

● reduce your risk of heart attack
● give you more energy
● help you manage your weight
● help you improve your cholesterol
● lower your blood pressure
● make your bones and muscles stronger
● relax you and make you feel content
● improve your immunity
● help you sleep better
● improve your mood and help give you a positive outlook on life
● boost your concentration and alertness
● make you more productive at work
● reduce your risk of cognitive impairment as you age
● make you happier and healthier.

Remember that any exercise is preferable to none, and if you just have a limited amount of
time, you may make it brief and simple. You'll be setting yourself up for improved long-term
health if you schedule activity into your daily routine.

3. Barriers he/she experienced

Lack of time
Friends and family don’t share your interest in physical activity
Lack of motivation and/or energy
Lack of resources/equipment
Family caregiving obligations
Frequent work or leisure travel

4. Details of his/her exercise program

She watches videos from youtube and follows them.

5. Ultimate fitness goal

My physical fitness objectives would include eating a well-balanced diet rich in fresh fruits,
vegetables, and high-quality proteins; drinking lots of clean water; and engaging in daily
activity that emphasizes complete range of motion, cardiovascular challenge, and stretching.
