Present perfect (already, just, yet, never, ever)

Already: positive sentences

Mum: Do you homework before you go out Sam!

Sam: I have already done it mum.

Tom: I need my white shirt for tomorrow. Can you please wash it?

Teresa: I have already washed it and I am going to iron it tonight.

Teacher: Ok everyone now let’s do task 1.

John: I have already done it Miss Smith.

Just: positive sentences

They have just bought the tickets.

She has just decorated the Christmas tree.

Alice: Can I see Mr. Brown?

Secretary: I am sorry but he has just left.


- Why are you smiling?
- I’ve just watched a very funny video on You Tube. Look!

Yet: Negative sentences and questions

My son went to the supermarket an hour ago but he hasn’t come back yet.

Our teacher hasn’t explained portfolio yet.

I haven’t cleaned the house yet.

Have you talked to your friend yet?

Has he finished his homework yet?

Haven’t you done your project yet?

Never: positive sentences but the meaning is negative.

She has never been to Paris before. She hasn’t been to Paris before.

He has never eaten snails.

He hasn’t eaten snails.

They have never seen snow.

They haven’t seen snow.

Ever: Questions

Have you ever seen a famous person?

Has she ever tried cooking?

Has he ever seen snake?

Alice is from America and she lives there.

Alice’s friend: Alice where have you been?

Alice: I have been to Paris.(I went to Paris a week ago and I came back last
night)

Pam has gone to the hairdresser. (she is there now)

She has been to the hairdresser(she is at work now she went and came back)
