3. Determine the value of k for which the indicated value of x is a solution
x2 + kx - 4 = 0, x = -4
4. Find the ratio in which the joining of points ( -3, 10) and ( 6, -8) is divided by
point ( -1, 6)
5. Find the area of quadrant of a circle whose circumference is 22 cm.
6. Find the sum of the following AP 2, 7, 12, ---- upto 10 terms.

earthquake affected village. The allotment officer is trying to come up with

8. Using Prime factorisation, find the HCF and LCM of 150 and 240
9. The diameter of a solid metallic sphere is 16 cm. the sphere is melted and recast into
8 equal solid spherical balles. Determine the radius of the balls.
10. 2000 tickets of a lottery were sold and there are 8 prizes on these tickets. Your friend
has purchased one lottery ticket. What is the probability that your friend wins a
prize

Directions : Q. No 11 - 13 : each carry 3 marks.
11. Find the area of the segment of a circle of radius 12 cm whose corresponding sector
has a central angle of 600.
12. The three vertices of a parallelogram taken in order are ( -1, 0), ( 3, 1 ) and (2, 2)
respectively. Find the coordinates of the fourth vertex.
13. Draw a circle of radius 5 cm. From a point , 12 cm away from its centre, construct
the pair of tangents to the circle and measure their lengths.

SECTION IV
Direction : Q. No 14 carry 5 mark
14. A diameter of a roller 120 cm long is 84 cm. If it takes 500 complete revolutions to
level a playground determine the cost of levelling it at the rate of 20 paise per square
metre.
