Wire: Metal wire ~60cm/23,62 inch (If you use wire in this Bird, remember
that’s not a toy for children ! Its only an decoration bird. Feel free to use it
as a toy if you crocheting feet !) Pipe cleaner work too.

Needle for sewing (blunt), pin needles and a scissors

Filling : Cotton wool or polyester filling

Textile glue: to fix yarn on wire for the feet

 Begin with colour dark grey:

Sew the beak at head. Position is in mid of the first black row go over 3 stitches. Be
sure, the green area is in the rear part, the beak in front.

It´s time for safety eyes…Postion of them is between row 5+6 at top black row. 3
stitches between eye and beak.

Neck strip
 Use colour black
1.R: 18ch and 1 turning chain stitch = 18 st +1
2.R: turn, 18sc, 1ch for turn
3.R: turn, 18sc and close, let yarn end for sewing.
Sew the strip in the neck oft he head. Look in picture for clear position.
Triangle under the Beak
 Colour: black
1.R: 3ch and 1 turning chain stitch, turn (03+1)
2.R: 3sc, NO turning ch stitch! turn (03)
3.R: dec 1st +2nd st to 1sc, 1sc NO turning ch stitch! turn (02)
4.R: dec 1st +2nd st to 1sc, pull the Loop bigger – dont close it! Cut Yarn with end for
sewing.
Pull the loop over the beak and sew the triangle under the beak. (look pictures)

Back & Tail part

This is work in rows ( not rounds!), at the end of a row ever chrochet a turn chain
stitch. Number of stitches in a row (x) is ever without a turn chain stitch!

Close work and cut yarn.

Now sew the feathers together with a double thread in light green colour.

With dark grey colour crochet a sl st line on the wing.

Position is in row 5,6 and 7 (Picture)

Next sl st line is with white colour between oval and feathers ( ~ round 4 )

Crochet a sl st line around at end of each feather. The short and mid one make
6sl st, for the long feather make 7sl st. The small line stitching with needle over
2 stitches and end behind the wing. (look pictures)

There be differences in position the sl st between the right and left wing ! Be
careful you done right both ! The pictures will help you…
Oval on wing (2x)
 Use colour : light green

Close the round, sew it on the wing (Picture), don’t center it on wing place it a
little bit more in front.

Feet
~60cm/23,62 inch metal wire you need for feet. The pictures show you how to
fold it right. With darkgrey Wool go around and fix it with textile glue
ATTENTION ! NO CHILDREN TOY! If you use wire, don´t give them to child for
playing please, it´s not safe ! It´s only for decoration ! But you can make
crocheting feet for more safe ! Pipe cleaner (black) work too.
Birds nest
 Use colour : 3 different brown colours and hook needle size 5mm
If you dont give it to children, one of the colours can be a brown or green wire too. It
will stabilize it much more.

Bird children
A softer and fleecy effect you become if you
roughen the wool after you ready. Take a brush
or velco and rub over head of birds. Or wherever
you want your fleecy effect.

Fold the chain-line in mid and sew it at the

head.

Feet(2x for every bird)

These legs are made with two chain lines
who connected with a slip stitch together !

1.R 1st chain line 6ch + close it

1.R 2nd chain line 1ch, 1sl st in the last st of 1st chain line, 1ch + close it

Sew yarns invisible and with one sew the foot at body.
