(1) The Equipped Ventilating Box includes the main components that follow:

- an inlet hopper,
- an outlet hopper.

(a) Make sure that the unit is not damaged ; specially, make sure that there are no cracks and
impact signs on the insulation layer that covers the outlet hopper and the inlet hopper.

(b) Make sure that there is no blockage of the drains.

(2) Functional tests

(a) Make sure that there is no cap on the air inlet.

(b) Select the quick speed of the fan.

(c) Energize the fan.

(d) Make sure that the air flows in the correct direction through the four air outlets of the outlet
hopper.

(e) Make sure that the current consumption is less than or equal to 15.5 A.

(f) Select the slow speed of the fan.

(g) Make sure that the air flow decreases.

(1) Disassembly of the Equipped Ventilating Box

(a) Remove the identification plate (01-130).

NOTE : The identification plate (01-130) is bonded.

(b) Remove the clamp (01-120) from the inlet hopper (01-010).

(c) Remove the four clamps (01-110) from the outlet hopper (01-080).

(d) Remove the screws (01-090) and the flat washers (01-100).

(e) Remove the outlet hopper (01-080) from the inlet hopper (01-010).

(f) Remove the locknut of the cabin fan (01-020) connector.

(g) Remove the connector of the cabin fan (01-020) from its recess in the inlet hopper (01-010).

(h) Remove the screws (01-060) and the flat washers (01-070).

(i) Remove the air jet pump nozzle (01-030) from the inlet hopper (01-010).

(j) Remove the cabin fan (01-020) from the inlet hopper (01-010).

(k) Remove the fan seal (01-040) from the inlet hopper (01-010).

(l) Remove the spacers (01-050) from the inlet hopper (01-010).

NOTE : Install all protective caps on the units.


Use a lint-free cloth moist with cleaning material code (M09A) or a soft brush.
Clean each part to remove oil, grease or dirt.
No signs of packing material or sealing compound are permitted on the mating
surfaces.

(d) Put the air jet pump nozzle (01-030) in position in the inlet hopper (01-010).

(e) Install the flat washers (01-070) and the screws (01-060).

(f) Torque the screws (01-060) to the specified value (Ref. TASK 21-20-01-820-801-A01).

(g) Put the connector of the cabin fan (01-020) in position in its recess in the inlet hopper (01-
010).

NOTE : Make sure that the connector of the cabin fan (01-020) is in correct position
(Ref. Fig. 1).

(h) Install the locknut of the cabin fan (01-020) connector.

(i) Torque the locknut of the cabin fan (01-020) connector to the specified value (Ref. TASK 21-
20-01-820-801-A01).

(j) Put the outlet hopper (01-080) in position on the inlet hopper (01-010).

(k) Install the flat washers (01-100) and the screws (01-090).

(l) Torque the screws (01-090) to the specified value (Ref. TASK 21-20-01-820-801-A01).

(m) Install the four clamps (01-110) on the outlet hopper (01-080).

(n) Torque the screw of the four clamps (01-110) to the specified value (Ref. TASK 21-20-01-
820-801-A01).

(o) Install the clamp (01-120) on the inlet hopper (01-010).

(p) Torque the screw of the clamp (01-120) to the specified value (Ref. TASK 21-20-01-820-801-
A01).

(q) Bond the identification plate (01-130) on the inlet hopper (01-010) with adhesive material
code (M65B).

1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. EFFECTIVITY

(1) Equipment Involved

This Service Bulletin is applicable to the Equipped Ventilating Box PNR 3523A010000 or
3523A010000 Amdt A which is modified into Equipped Ventilating Box PNR 3523A010000
AMDT B or 3523A010000 AMDT AB.

B. CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS

(1) The accomplishment of this Service Bulletin may be performed at the same time as the
accomplishment of the LIEBHERR-AEROSPACE TOULOUSE SAS Service Bulletin
3523-21-01 which consists in the improvement of the water draining of the inlet hopper.

(2) The accomplishment of this Service Bulletin must be performed later or at the same time as
the accomplishment of the TECHNOFAN Service Bulletin No. 8015-21-02 which consists in
modifying the cabin fan PNR 8015A010000 Amdt A into PNR 8015A020000.

C. REASON

This Service Bulletin is issued to introduce a new cabin fan with an improved reliability.

D. DESCRIPTION

This modification consists:

(1) Replacement of the cabin fan (Ref. Fig. 1) and (Ref. Fig. 2):

(a) Replace the cabin fan PNR 8015A010000 by a new cabin fan PNR 8015A020000.

E. COMPLIANCE

(1) Modification embodiment

This modification is recommended.

(a) In-production units

The modification is applied from October 2004.

(b) In-service units

This modification may be introduced upon operator request, at the opportunity of a


repair at LIEBHERR-AEROSPACE TOULOUSE SAS facilities, at authorized repair
stations or by operators.

F. APPROVAL

The technical information contained in this Service Bulletin was approved by EUROCOPTER under
the prerogatives awarded by the EASA Design Organization Approval No. 21J.056 only for the
EUROCOPTER helicopter range concerned.

G. MANPOWER

(1) Manhours required for the disassembly and the assembly with the modification of the
component is 1,5 hours.

(2) Manhours required for the test of the component is 30 minutes.

H. WEIGHT AND BALANCE

The modification increases weight by 0,040 kg (0.088 lb).

21-20-01-400-801-A01).

(2) Put the letter “B” on the identification plate of the component.

Isolation” chapter, TASK 21-20-01-700-801-A01) and fill the Acceptance Test Repair Data
Sheet (ATRDS) in the Appendix B.
