"HAPPINESS OF BEING WHAT WE ARE"

SINUANIDAD DAY CELEBRATION

On Thursday June 17th the area of Social Sciences impacted the entire visionary
community with a great activity that reflects the culture that characterizes us as
Monterians.

This proposal was based on a Cordovan writer who believes that sinuanidad is
sinuano the comprehensive and organized study of the sinuano. The sinuanidad as
referral would be consistent expression of cultural and social values that occurred
and give in the Colombian Sinu. The main objective of this activity is to promote the
entire education community to school worldview clear visions about the cultural
identity of our region through recognition of elements like music, dance, cuisine,
and traditional games. Considering the proposal, it was planned as follows: Each
grade participated by donating a typical dish of the region which will be appointed
to advance with its counselor to participate in the culinary show.

The day of the event each student may attend with special clothing (shirt, jeans,
sandals and closed shoes) respectively and should make a contribution of $ 300, is
prohibited by order of the school board to assist in sandals.

The event started from 8: 30 am and ended at 11: 00 am.

Some students invited their parents for the presentation.

Each group counselor was in charge of caring for the cumulative Social Sciences
test, then they to accompany the students for the tour of the exhibition.

The visit to the different attractions of the day differed by stations which showed
each of the thematic elements, for which tend the following distribution was taking
into account:

There was a mural in which idioms of local culture could be read. Also
students could write words, proverbs and sayings that they knew and that
were related to the activity.

It is very important to highlight the great organization of the event, which was a
success, since students were seen enjoying each of the above stations and which
were identified with their culture. This activity showed the commitment of students
and parents to be linked again to our activities, since the vast majority of students
carried their fine clothes, jeans, sandals, hats, which were excellent monterianos
copies, and what to say about the parents, who collaborated with typical foods
shown during the event: chicharronada, mote de queso, bocachico, chichas, bola
de gato, suero, queso. among others.

Significantly, to have the participation of some parents who got appropriated some
stations, which drew more attention to the event and happiness for these who were
involved in this activity.

Finally we can say that the event was well planned for all the visionary community
for reminding them how important it is to participate and recognize our culture,
since this month are taken place different celebrations related to our region’s
birthday.
