Context / Unit Overview

My Thoughts Essential Question
The whole reason we learn a foreign language is What are the basic interactions between Francophone
so that we can communicate with it-- be it peoples and how do they differ between cultures?

Delving into speaking activities. After this unit will have in their arsenal, some of the tools needed to have a
simple conversation in a classroom setting. They will be able to greet each other, ask simple questions, give
a date, and describe African francophone cultures.

Unit exam: Teacher interview:

The exam will include specific vocabulary that
students will have practiced over the course of
three weeks. Students will be told exactly which
terms will be on the exam. There will be a section
on culture that will in English. Students will be given - Teacher will repeat the question up to three times.

Reasoning: This project is a good way to get students

to start using the TL in simple, safe environments. It is
also a way to get students to think in the TL as
opposed to having them read from a script.
