Chapter 2 – Part 2 (page 11 12 13)

Constance took Helen Clarke and Mrs Wright to a room and they had a conversation
there. Helen advised Constance as a friend that she should go out to have her own
happy and to come back to the world, not just stay in the Blackwood house. Uncle
Julian came back at the middle of the conversation. Helen asked Julian if he supposed
that villagers would really afraid to visit the Blackwood’s house. But Julian stated that
Constance was acquitted of murder of of the most sensational poisoning case of the
century and the house was not in danger anymore. Julian retelled the story about this
poison case to Mrs Wright in the objection of Helen. The murder was in the dinning
room when the Blackwood gathered for evening meal, the culprit used Arsenic in the
sugar. Julian used that sugar but lucklily he still survived. The poisoner may know that
Constance rarely took sugar on anything. It counted strongly against her at the trial.
Julian endeavored a lot to find the evidences improving Constance was innocent. And
of course she was acquitted after all.
