Abstract Introduction

The parking problem becomes one of the key issue of
concern to motorists as definitely no one wants to waste
time in looking for a parking place for their car.
This program Car Parking System to calculate and display
number of free parking space in parking lot to park the car
using image processing technique.
The proposed algorithm uses the camera captured JPEG
images of car parking lot, process the image, separate the
noise and background color to produces the number of free
parking space information for motorist and administration
of car parking lot.
The movement of cars, their parking and their regulation
is a true expression of the nature of society, and whoever
realizes this fact, the person coming from outside the
components of society is the "visitor" for the country,
where the first impression he takes is the traffic and the
nature of the streets, and in light of this he realizes the
nature of the society he comes to.
Statistical studies indicate that there are one billion and
two hundred million cars in the world running on the
roads with an annual increase.

Our system will help motorists to know before entering if
there is a parking space available for their cars or not by
show availability of parking state.
The proposed algorithm has been implemented in MATLAB
software.
It amounts to 6.45% at a time when the demand increases
on the available yards and investing them as commercial
complexes, which leads to increasing demand for
parking spaces in various places, especially commercial
areas.

Conclusion

"Smart Parking” MATLAB based program

is specially designed to help the people to
solve parking problems.
Reference
The proposed algorithm smartly detect the
presence of car, count the number of free
space in parking slot and display the free
parking place number and total count.
The algorithm have used high resolution
camera based JPEG images captured on
relative long distance for experimentation
and proved best results.
The smart parking system is inexpensive,
error free and high accuracy results
system which is developed to help the
motorist.
