Adult learners, a growing population in higher education institutions, bring with them a variety of

life experiences and interests that shape their learning. The constructivist model, which recognizes
learning as active development of personal meaning through the interaction of current conceptions and
ongoing experiences, presents an approach appropriate for adult learners. The Internet plays a vital role
in providing a framework for adults learning at a distance to construct their learning collaboratively and
actively.

 The constructive learning area finds in the Internet an instrument that allows the experimental
game of the “correct and mistake”, offering the possibility to build up original knowledge.
 Constructivism pattern - is the design of learning ways and knowledge matches well with the
Internet as a learning instrument and actively participates in the learning process.

THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN A CONSTRUCTIVIST CLASSROOM

Technology has changed the way we teach and the way we learn. The use of internet, social media
and mobile technologies is common these days among students; lecturers need to find pedagogical
approaches to integrate these technologies for academic purposes. Constructivism states that learners
actively construct their own knowledge and meaning from their experiences, while technology refers to
the designs and environments that engage learners.
