Reflectio-Artificial Intelligence in The Airline Industry
For a long period of time I have heard about Artificial Intelligence, I never
thought more about what it means and the importance it has not in many sectors
but the aviation industry. I came to learn that Artificial Intelligence is a smart method
of machine learning that simulates human intelligence in machines, allowing them to think
like people and imitate actions as they change (Strong, 2016). It is a part of the computer
learning field to stress the development of intelligent computers, and it is critical to enabling
human capacities to understand, reason, and plan, all of which are accomplished through
successful software programming.
My won understanding of AI was that it was a program used by pilots to control the
plane by giving directions through commands. I have come to learn that in the airline sector,
artificial intelligence is utilized to improve the overall effectiveness of services by doing
predictive maintenance, pattern recognition, auto-scheduling, and customer feedback
analysis. Additionally, Artificial Intelligence aids in the creation of a secure, comfortable, and
customer-responsive airline facility that saves time and lowers total trip costs (Strong, 2016).
AI encourages travellers to speak up and analyses their data using face and thumb
recognition. It protects the airline and tourism industries from all types of threats.
I came to learn that Artificial intelligence assists with revenue management, aviation
safety, and airplane maintenance, feedback analysis, crew strategic planning, in-flight sales,
food supply, employing organization, and fuel usage optimization. Overbooked flights can
also be reduced with AI's help. Based on past flyer details and historical customer data, as
well as shifting weather patterns for specific routes, AI could predict the chance of specific
passengers not showing up or switching flights. AI may then send real-time information to
ground staff on the amount of passengers scheduled to board. This could help to solve the
issue of passengers being removed from planes after they have already boarded, which is
something I am interested in learning more about. Additionally, Aviation Company uses AI
techniques to create systems that are faster and more interoperable thus making it easy for
controllers to do their jobs with automatic speech recognition (Garvin & Kimbleton, 2021).
Machine learning also aids in system performance monitoring and anomaly detection, as
well as predictive maintenance and system resilience
The other additional advantage of AI is that it creates faster ways to check the
passenger's luggage and their identity and also provides an optimum facility and a safe
