Ng, Peggy M. L.

(2021), The purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual model to examine key
employability skills that match workplace requirements and foster employability. The current study
adopted structural equation modeling to examine key employability skills that match workplace
requirements and foster employability. Based on the empirical findings, the acquired employability skills
of young graduates are entrepreneurship, professional development, work with others, self-
management, communication and problem solving.

Jackson, D. (2019). Student Perceptions of the Development of Work Readiness in Australian

Undergraduate Programs. Journal of College Student Development 60(2), 219-
239. doi:10.1353/csd.2019.0020.

Jackson, D. (2019), I explored the perceived effectiveness of Australian undergraduate degree programs
in preparing students for contemporary work. I examined student perceptions of program development
of work-related knowledge and skills in Australia between 2013 and 2016 using national and
institutional data. Variations in perceptions were investigated by discipline and for individual
characteristics, including the completion of work-integrated learning (WIL). Findings suggest students
perceive particular program aspects as reasonably successful for aiding workplace preparation.

Perceived employability among undergraduates and the importance of career self-management, work
experience and individual characteristics

Denise Jackson(2016), Underemployment, continued growth in the supply of graduates and seemingly
perpetual instability are dominant trends in graduate labor markets. In order to negotiate an
increasingly complex career terrain, graduates require sharpened skills in effectively managing their own
careers and a strong assurance of their own capabilities.

This chapter presents the literature and studies, both foreign and local, that were undertaken to
investigate and support the study. The following literature and studies were gathered form different media
such as book, website and thesis which are valuable in determining essential to the formulation of the
study and to further strengthen its purpose of analyzing on the employability skills acquired in virtual on
the job training (OJT) toward perceived preparedness for the chosen career in Cavite State University

It said that in order to negotiate an increasingly complex career terrain, graduates require
sharpened skills in effectively managing their own careers and a strong assurance of their own
capabilities (Denise Jackson,2016).

According to Abas, Maripaz C.; Imam, Ombra A. (2016), One critical measure of success in
workplaces is an employee's ability to use competently the knowledge, skills and values that match the
needs of his job, satisfy the demands of his employer, and contribute to the overall achievement of
institutional goals.

In accordance to the study of Kansas State Department of Education (2020) it is important that
schools and districts measure the essential employability skills and knowledge that students gain from
Work-Based Learning (WBL) experiences and give students an opportunity to document and reflect on
their learning.

Jackson, D. (2019), I explored the perceived effectiveness of Australian undergraduate degree

The study of Albert C. Albina and Lilian P. Sumagaysay, (2019), Findings reveal that 78.53% (or
139 out of 177) of the respondents are already employed. Moreover, 69.78% (or 97 out of 139) perceived
that their first job is related to the program that respondents took up in college.

Many researchers analyzed the employability skills acquired in virtual on the job training (OJT)
toward perceived preparedness for the chosen career. The following cited by (Rommel L. Verecio, 2018).
Decision tree model and decision rule for classification were created. There were 85.50% correctly

students are trained to be productive, responsible and cooperative and have the initiative to act.
The changes increase the importance of employability skills and literacy that would ensure
career success and degree program relevance (Manuel E. Caingcoy (2021).

Base on the survey result conducted by Evelyn L. De Castro, Ma. Theresa B. Prenda and Conrado
