INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE
• The ocean and seas are hhuge water bodies that have lots of water.

• They are home to many sea creatures including dolphins and sharks.

• They are largely responsible for the worlds climate.

• The ocan and seas are a huge salt deposit.

• They provide 80% of the oxygene we breathe.

• Provides food for animals and humans.

• the provide transport.

• They are temperature moderators .

• source of a lot of minerals.

• It gives us medicine to treat many diseases like cancer.

5 OCEANS OF THE WORLD
• Each of these oceans occupies a huge area between land masses
and each one has its own charecteristics.

• THE PACIFIC OCEAN =T he pacific ocean is the largest ocean . Its

boundaries include north and south America , east asia and
Australia.

• THE ATLANTIC OCEAN = The atlantic ocean lies between north and
south America on the west and Europe and Africa on the east. It
contains the most saltiest water in the world.

• THE INDIAN OCEAN = This is the third largest ocean.it si about half the
size of the pacific ocean. The red sea and Persian gulf are parts of
this ocean.

• THE SOTHERN OCEAN = the southern ocean stretches in a 20 million

square kilometres circle around the antartic continent.it is the
second coldest ocean.

• THE ARTIC OCEAN= This is the smallest and coldest of the oceans.
Much of it is covered with floating ice. Its surface temperature never 4

Seas are smaller than oceans and are usually located where the land and the ocean
meet. Most seas are partially enclosed by land, while a few are almost completely
enclosed by land. The Caspian Sea is the only sea that is completely landlocked. There
are more than a hundred seas all around the world, each with its own characteristics.

BALTIC SEA
The Baltic sea is a semi
enclosed sea that lies
between Scandinavian
Peninsula and continental
Europe and is a part of the
Atlantic Ocean.
ARABIAN SEA
The Arabian Sea, which is a
part of the Indian Ocean,
covers almost 3.9 million
square kilometres between
India, Iran, the Maldives,
Oman, Yemen,Somalia, and
Pakistan. Major inflows into the
sea are the Indus and
Namada Rivers.
BLACK SEA
The Black Sea is the most
easterly body of water
connected to the Atlantic
Ocean. It is almost completely
enclosed by land except for a
small connection to the
Mediterranean Sea through
Turkey.it is fed by 6 rivers.
