Artifact
Title of Artifact: Madeline Hunter Lesson Plan
The benefit of completing this artifact was to prepare better for being an educator. Through
completing a lesson plan, I was able to see what a day-to-day task may be like while planning.
Luckily, from working in a group to complete this project, I was able to bounce ideas off of others
and we could all pitch in ideas as well. This was great practice for someday collaborating with
other teachers for tying curriculum together. The artifact completed the InTASC Standard #8
Instructional Strategies, InTASC Standard #10 Leadership and Collaboration, Course Competency
#5, Essential Learning Outcome #3: Communication Skills, and Essential Learning Outcome #5:
Collaboration.
Reflection:
I thought that the way this artifact was presented helped complete a lot of teaching standards.
Considering lesson planning is very important, I was glad to hear that we would learn about it and
practice making one for this class. I was also able to find more resources about more standards in
education and how to apply those into a curriculum. For the artifact my group did, we created a
lesson plan for second grade art. It was fun finding an activity that could turn into learning and
meet some of the standards for second grade art. Overall, this artifact provided me with the much
needed opportunity to practice making a lesson plan.
