PLAN YOUR TRANSIT
Plan a layover of at least 8 hours at Frankfurt Airport to allow sufficient time to obtain the required
Covid-19 test certificates at the same day of departure.
Pre-book and pre-pay for the two Covid-19 tests (PCR and IgM antibody) individually:
Test facilities in the transit area booked via links above are currently only available for Lufthansa
transit passengers who hold 1 ticket for the whole journey, including a Lufthansa operated flight
(LH720, LH728, LH780) bound for China Mainland.
As regulations are changing rapidly, please check with the Chinese authorities for the latest
requirements and visit Lufthansa Travel Regulations for updates.
Check Covid-19 Test Requirements for the exact procedure to obtain a Green HS Code (Chinese
Citizens) or Green HDC Code (Non-Chinese Citizens) and a Red Customs Entry/Exit Health Code.

Passengers transferring from a domestic flight in Germany are asked to take the tests in their origin city within
48 hours before boarding their long-haul flight bound for China Mainland and obtain a Green HS Code
(Chinese Citizens) or Green HDC Code (Non-Chinese Citizens) at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in
Germany.
If done so, passengers from a domestic flight in Germany transferring to China Mainland are not required to be
tested again in Frankfurt.

AT FRANKFURT AIRPORT
Immediately upon arrival, go directly to the Covid-19 test center to take the two tests:
o Domestic and Schengen passenger goes to
Medical Center (IgM antibody test)
Centogene Squaire (PCR test)
o Non-Schengen passenger goes to
Transit Area Non-Schengen (PCR and IgM antibody test)
The test center in the transit area accept the PCR test and IgM antibody test pre-bookings and will
conduct both tests in the same session.
Test certificates are normally available within 6 hours after sampling and can be obtained online by
email for each test result individually.
The negative Covid-19 certificates issued by the test facilities at Frankfurt Airport (Medical Center,
Centogene Squaire or Transit Area Non-Schengen) also need to be verified by Chinese Embassy in
Germany to apply a HS Code (Chinese Citizens) or HDC Code (Non-Chinese Citizens) that is
required to present when boarding as of 1Dec. 2020
Arrive at the boarding gate on time and present the two negative Covid-19 test certificates
together with the Red Customs Exit/Entry Health Code to board the aircraft.
Please note:
Lufthansa highly recommends that passengers hold an insurance which covers quarantine and
health care costs in Germany.
In case your test result is positive, the passenger is not allowed to board any aircraft. Please
contact the Lufthansa ground staff for further instructions. You are required to stay in quarantine in
a designated hotel in Frankfurt and are responsible for any further expenses.
