This High-level structure used / to be used for all Management System Standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO
50001, ISO 27001, ISO 22000, IATF 16949, AS 9100, IRIS 22163, ……....

Terminology:

Terms Description / Understanding

Action The process of doing something, especially when dealing with a problem or difficulty.

Relevant or possible to apply and implies that if it can be done, it needs to be done.
Applicable
The words “appropriate” and “applicable” are not interchangeable.

Appropriate Suitable (for, to) and implies some degree of freedom.

Consider It is necessary to think about the topic but it can be excluded.

Indicates duration that occurs over a period of time, but with intervals of interruption.
Continual
Appropriate word to use when referring to improvement.

Continuous Indicates duration without interruption.

To order, limit, or rule something, or someone’s actions or behavior.


Control
The power to influence or direct people’s behavior or the course of events.

Determine Ascertain or establish exactly by research or calculation.

Effect Used to describe the result of a change to the organization.

Ensure Responsibility can be delegated, but not the accountability.

Establish To make something (plan or system) start to exist or happen.

Implement To start using a plan or system

Improve Make or become better.

Intended Outcome The organization intends to achieve by implementing its ……………….. management system.

Maintain To continue to have; to keep in existence, or not allow to become less.

Retain Continue to have something; absorb and continue to hold.

Take into account It is necessary to think about the topic but it cannot be excluded.
