WEEKLY HOME LEARNING PLAN- GRADE 11

Learning Area: General Mathematics Weeks:

Date Covered:
MELCs:
 solves problems involving rational functions, equations, and inequalities.
Objectives: At the end of this module, the learner is expected to:
1. solve real-life problems involving rational functions, equations, and
inequalities;
2. carefully analyze and understand word problems before solving them; and
3. create real-life word problems about rational functions, equations and
inequalities.
DAY AND
TIME
LEARNING TASKS
 Wake up! It is a new day for new learning opportunities. Get ready for a fun yet
productive day ahead.

Note: Kindly use a separate sheet of paper or use the one provided by the school as the answer sheet for
all of the activities in this module. Any form of writing in the module is strictly prohibited.

Preliminaries/Introduction (What I Need to know)

 Before proceeding straight to the discussion, explain to the learner that it is
important that he/she has an idea on the learning outcomes expected at the end
of the module. This will make him/her have a goal in mind as he/she interacts
with and accomplishes the material.
 Afterwards, let the learner read and understand the What I Need to Know part
on page 1.

Pre assessment (What I know)

 On page 2-3, let the student answer the 15-item Multiple Choice Pre-test.
Instruct him/her to write only the letter that corresponds to his/her answer for
each item on the answer sheet.

PROCEDURES
1. Review/Motivations (What’s In)
 Match and Solve: On page 4-7, let the student recall first what he/she has learned
from the previous lesson by solving a rational equation and rational inequalities to
match the correct data in the appropriate column.

2. Initial Activity/Discovery (What’s New)

 In this part, let the student work on the Speed Me Up activity. Instruct him/her to
read and analyze each situation given and answer the questions that follow.
(pages 5-16)

3. Discussion of the Topic (What is it)

 On pages 6-9, examples of real-life problems involving rational functions,
equations, and inequalities are given. Let the student read and analyze the
examples to better understand the module.

4. Enrichment Activities (What’s More)

 Let the students answer the following activities (page 10-13).
Practice Activity 1. A Garden Plot. Problem Solving
Independent Assessment 1. Triangular Kite. Problem Solving
Practice Activity 2. Do it Together. Problem Solving
Independent Assessment 2. Paint my Wall. Problem Solving
Practice Activity 3. Mix mix mix! Problem Solving
Independent Assessment 3. Salt solution. Problem Solving
Practice Activity 4. Volume of a Box. Problem Solving
Independent Assessment 4. Who am I? Problem Solving
Independent Assessment 5. Growing Bacteria. Problem Solving

5. Generalization (What I Have Learned)

 Let the student answer the identification test, and let him/her summarize the
different steps to solve real-life problems involving rational functions, equations,
and inequalities. Answers will be written on Google Form

6. Application (What I Can Do)

 Application (page 13-14): Let the student observe the surroundings and try to
create 3-word problems involving rational functions, equations, and inequalities
and show also the solutions to the problems that he/she created.

7. Assessment (Post assessment)

 In this part, evaluate the student’s level of mastery by asking him/her to answer
the 15-item multiple choice test on pages 15-16

8. Additional Activity
 Think about this! A boat that can travel fifteen miles per hour in still water can
travel thirty-six miles downstream in the same amount of time that it can travel
twenty-four miles upstream. Find the speed of the current in the river.

MODE OF DELIVERY
Modular: The parent/guardian/authorized representative shall personally submit the printed module
and activity sheets in the respective LGUs. A proof of identity shall be presented upon the
submission/claim of the materials.
Online Distance Learning: The learner can send outputs to the Google Classroom account provided by
the teacher or to any other platform recommended by the school.
