1) Surface preparation,
2) Place the tiles out to determine the direction of tiles & design
3) Applying adhesive and installing tiles
4) Grouting the tiles.
Surface prep and choosing an adhesive are based on the tile & location. For
External tiles, especially for façade/ and heavy slabs it is always better to use
RAZON Polyurethane based tile adhesive, which provides exceptional bond
strengths & can sustain elongation in the tiles. Epoxy based Adhesives are preferred
Wall tiles can be installed over Plaster or smooth RCC surface; Make sure that the
surface is clean, smooth, flat, and dry. If the wall is painted, it's a good idea to sand the
surface prior to installation. It is ideal to dampen the surface one day prior to application
so as to obtain an SSD surface at the time of installation; however, due to time
constraints, it is sufficient to damp the wall/ plaster just before the commencement of
installation
Creating a Layout:-
Begin the tile layout by finding the center of the wall, then use a level to create
intersecting vertical and horizontal layout lines. Test-fit a full horizontal row and a of tiles
along the lines to see how the tiles fit the area. Note the direction of tiles. Adjust the
layout lines as needed for the best appearance. Remember to include spaces for grout
joints when testing the layout. If you are using ceramic tiles, make sure to immerse the
tiles in water about 30 minutes prior to application of the adhesive.
Ceramic Tiles are pre-soaked in water
to improve the bond. This is not
required for vitrified or mosaic tiles &
stones.
The local Razon representative will help you decide and ensure that you are using the
right adhesive for the task at hand.
Take water in a sturdy bucket, open the Bag of Tile Fix, and add this powder to the
water. Using a low speed helical mixer, mix it thoroughly. If required add water or
adhesive powder till a workable paste consistency is obtained. Note- addition of excess
moisture will affect the performance of the adhesive.
Apply the adhesive to the wall with a notched trowel, holding the trowel at about 45
degrees so the furrows of adhesive are uniform in height. Apply the adhesive on the
reverse(non slick) side of the tile holding the notched trowel at an angle of 45 degrees.
Press the tile firmly on the corresponding wall where the adhesive has been applied,
twisting them slightly to squeeze the adhesive into complete contact. Using a mallet
push the tile into the wall to ensure positive contact between the adhesives of tile and
the wall. Use tile spacers to set consistent gaps for grout joists, as needed.
Repeat the steps to Install the remaining tiles, working from the first row and column.

adhesive powder to this water thoroughly till a paste is formed.

adhesive on the surface side of the tile
Grouting happens after the tile adhesive has fully cured. Choose RAZON Tile Joint
Sealer EPB- which is epoxy based, for obtaining a forever-fresh looking joint. Our
Cementatious Grout is available in a host of colours.
Mix the grout as directed by the data sheet. Apply the grout with a rubber grout float,
pressing the grout firmly into the joint spaces. Make a second pass diagonally across
the tiles, holding the float at a steep angle, to remove excess grout from the tile
surfaces. Gently wipe the tiles and joints with a grout sponge and clear water. Let the
grout set up, then buff away any grout haze from the tile faces using a soft cloth.
