I welcome parents to
email me and I respond
within a 24 hour window.
If parents like to meet I
usually include
communication with my
director and colleagues
who may have the
student, just in case it
needs to be a “360”
meeting. I do keep
parents in the loop and
send a letter home when
we are working on
something culturally
progressive just to give
them a “heads up”. For
example, we had an
indigenous person from
the Amazon come in to
speak to our students, I
followed up with
communication.

I am still working on
connecting with parents
on an integrating level to
participate in school.
However I will say I am
integrating at
communicating with
families while taking
cultural norms in
consideration.
