Praxis Analysis Paper

I must pass the Praxis Core Exam to be admitted to the college of Education at Nevada

State College. Also, I must pass the exam to continue my degree in Education. The passing score

for the Praxis Core Exam in the Math section is 150. The passing score for the Reading section is

156. Lastly, the passing score for the Writing section is 162.

I have prepared for the Praxis Core exam by reading about it in separate handbooks for

each subject. From these handbooks, I got an idea of what specific areas in each subject will

possibly be on the test and what kind of questions would be along with it. I also practiced on

Khan Academy while following my path to success and getting feedback when I got an answer

wrong. Khan Academy helped because I was able to correct my mistakes and know why they

were wrong. Lastly, I finished the Praxis course in CANVAS which gave practice exams and

resources for each subject.

In Math, I scored in the 80% range, which means that I’m very likely to pass in the Math

section when I take the official Praxis Core Exam. In Writing, I scored in the 60% range, which

means that I need improvement in the Writing section before taking the official Praxis Core

Exam. In Reading, I scored in the 48% range, which means I need significant improvement in

the Reading section before taking the official Praxis Core Exam.

To further prepare myself to pass the exam, there are a few different things that I will do.

First, I will practice more extensively on Khan Academy to gain familiarity with the Reading and

Writing sections of the exam. I will also possibly get a study book for the Reading and Writing

sections of the exam. In addition, I will practice more of my math skills by watching videos on

YouTube for Geometry problems and how to solve them. Lastly, I will take advantage of the

resources provided on the Praxis Prep websites to prepare myself further to pass the exam.
