Lesson Plan in English 2

I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of 50 minutes discussion, the grade II pupils are expected to do the following with 80%
proficiency.

A. Participate in the retelling of poems and stories.

B. Sequence the events of the story and make relevant predictions of the story.

C. Identify words that rhyme.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

A. Topic: The Lion and the Mouse and Justice

B. Reference: English 2 Teacher's guide, pp. 32-33

English 2 Learner's guide, pp. 404- 409

C. Materials: pictures and story book

III. PROCEDURE:

A. Preparation

How are you this morning We're good


Very good
(The kids stand and recite the prayer)
Now let's stand up for the prayer,
Okay children sit-down.

B. Motivation
Children we will read a poem "Hickory Dickory"
Do you want it children?
"Yes teacher"
The teacher will read the poem with their pupil's
Okay children reapet after me
" Hickory Dickory"
Hickory Dickory dock
The mouse went up the clock
The mouse ran down
The clock struck one
Hickory Dickory dock

Activating prior knowledge


So children, what are the rhyming words in the
poem?
What other words do you know?
What animal went up the clock?
Dock- clock, down- one
Yes very good!
Have you seen a mouse?
Children can you think of a word that is similar
meaning of trap? The mouse
Yes very good !

Okay children lets go to the story telling Yes


Story telling
The teacher will read the story " The Lion and the Catch
mouse" and the children will follow.
The teacher will put the questions in the manila
paper and paste it on the board.
The teacher will give 20 minutes to answer the
comprehension questions
Comprehension questions
1. Who are the main characters of the story?
2. What was the lion doing under the tree?
3. Who woke up the lion?
4. What did the lion do to the mouse?

5. What happened to the lion one day?

IV. Evaluation:

1. If you were the mouse, would you also help the lion? Why or why not?

2. If you were the lion, would you let the mouse free?

V. Assignment

Retell your story to your family or friends.
