SEC-69 BK3: #YourDreamOJT

Read available literature about your target internship/OJT site. Why do you think the company or
organization you are eyeing will be the best place for you to gain the experience in the career
field you want to pursue? In turn, what are the knowledge and skills that you will bring that may
contribute to that company or organization’s goals during your brief stay with them?

On-the-job training (OJT) is a hands-on technique of teaching employees the skills, knowledge,
and competences needed to execute a given job in the workplace. Employees learn in a setting
where they will be required to put their newfound knowledge and abilities into practice. On-the-
job training teaches a person how to perform their job effectively using current workplace tools,
machinery, papers, equipment, and information. As a result, there are no stand-ins that will need
an employee to transfer their training to the job. Training takes place in the employee's normal
working environment and may take place while he or she is doing actual work. It might also
happen elsewhere in the company, with dedicated training rooms, workspaces, or equipment.
The goal of on-the-job training is to leverage the current environment, resources, and skill
training in the workplace to train people to do their duties while they are on the job.
