COMPLIANCE TIME: Within the next 90 days time in service or 30 flights, whichever comes first.
APPROVAL: The engineering aspects of this service document have been shown to comply
with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and are FAA approved.
PURPOSE: On the affected aircraft, Hartzell propellers may have been serviced in a
manner that was not in compliance with Hartzell Propeller, Inc., requirements,
prior to leaving the Piper factory. In accordance with Hartzell requirements, the
propellers installed on the affected aircraft must be removed from the aircraft,
then disassembled, cleaned, and serviced with all new grease.
INSTRUCTIONS:
CAUTION: MIXING OF NYCO GN 3058 WITH OTHER GREASES IS NOT PERMITTED. IF NYCO GN 3058
IS INADVERTENTLY MIXED WITH ANOTHER GREASE, THE PROPELLER WILL NEED TO
BE REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT, DISASSEMBLED, CLEANED AND SERVICED WITH
ALL NEW GREASE.
1. The Hartzell propellers must be removed from the affected aircraft and sent to a propeller service center
to be disassembled, cleaned and serviced with all new NYCO GN 3058 grease. Remove and reinstall the
propeller in accordance with the applicable Piper Airplane Maintenance Manual, Section 61-10-00.
For more information about servicing the affected propellers, refer to the latest revision of the applicable
Hartzell Overhaul/Maintenance Manual, and Hartzell Service Letter HC-SL-61-366, “Propeller – NYCO
GN3058 Grease.”
2. Make a logbook entry documenting compliance with this special advisory.

SUMMARY: Applicable factory participation is limited to new aircraft in warranty at the time of
compliance. Factory participation will remain in effect for a period of time not to
exceed 180 days from the date of this special advisory.
Please contact your Piper Approved Service Center to make arrangements for
compliance with this special advisory in accordance with the compliance time
indicated.
NOTE: Please notify the factory of any address/ownership corrections. Changes should include aircraft model,
serial number, and current owner’s name and address.
