1. Audience
Who is the audience for the instructions? How do you know?
The audience the instructions are written for is a chef or anyone who likes to cook at home. I
know this because a food processor is used to process food which anyone who would want to
cook would use.
2. Purpose
What are the instructions helping the audience do or create?
The instructions are used to help assemble and use the food processor.
The instructions are very easy to follow. The step-by-step instructions are very helpful and
descriptive.
Good – The layout and detailed instructions are very professional. I don’t think anyone would
have an issue following these directions.
Bad – In the assembling part of the instructions many steps state to rotate the bowl or lids but
not which way to rotate or if it can be rotated either way.
5. Visual Appeal
How does the set of instructions look? What about its the look and design that is effective or
ineffective for the audience?
I think the instructions look very professionally set up. I feel as thought these will be very effective
for anyone to follow without any issues.
The only part that I might change is the trouble shooting section. The solution to the problem is
all together and not separated by each problem to show the solution.
6. Language
What kind of language does the document use? Is it appropriate for the audience? Give
examples.
The language is professional but used in a way that anyone could understand.
Generic and basic wording is used to where even if you are not knowledgeable in the
cooking world you will still be able to understand and follow along

*What I have learned from this process is that there is A LOT more that goes into
creating instructions than I have ever thought, and that I’m slow and too meticulous! It
really has been a neat process to see it all come together and will be something I save to
use for the future. It is really beneficial to have a peer review your work as their eye will
notice mistakes that you have made that your mind “autocorrects” for you. Definitely
one of my favorite projects.
