Freedom of Fears
"Fears are Nothing More than a state of Mind "

With this thought, on 10th November 2021, SOIL School of Business

Design celebrated the "Freedom of Fears". To overcome our fears of
the activities we were afraid to perform, such as creative arts, the
college gave us a platform to show our talents.

The batch of PGDM - 2021 celebrated their first " Freedom of Fear"
event with enthusiasm, and even though it was a virtual event, the
batch left stones unturned to actively participate and enjoy it to the
fullest.
The whole idea of overcoming our fears through expression was
proposed by SOIL Chairman Mr. Anil Sachdev. All the faculty from SOIL,
SOBD along with the alumni and the external mentors were invited to
the event The whole event was student-driven. The activities selected
for the event were: Art and Craft, Photography, Dance, Singing and
Poetry, Acting, Movie-making, and Fashion Show.

Our artists painted the way to "spread happiness" and to live life to the
fullest in the "open sky". Our dancers danced their journey from "retro
to metro". Our photographers showed us the rainbow of "nature". Our
singers voiced the "old and new melodies". Our actors depicted the
true face of the students behind the camera in the online classes. And
lastly, with the modern touch, our models had a blast.

The event helped us feel and express ourselves better with the creative
arts and overcome ours fears.

Clubs and Committees
Canvas Club
On 3rd November 2021, SOBD celebrated the festival of Diwali in the
morning circle, organized by the Canvas club. The celebration started
with a beautiful morning prayer, followed by an explanation by Mansi
Dugar, on why this festival of lights is celebrated. After that, a dance
clip was played, performed by Anushka Sharma, a student of the
Incredibles batch.

Khushi Sahetai then showed us all how to make a "DIY Center/Corner

Table Tray" from old CDs, acrylic paints, and flowers. This was followed
by a video clip of the SOBD Family celebrating Diwali at their homes
and having fun.

Page Turner's Club

Page Turner’s Club conducted an event named “Imagination Tree” on
19th November 2021. It was to build a story and create a chain to take
the story to another level. It was a kind of game in which multiple
players cooperated to tell a spontaneous story.

11
The activity helped create magic and mysterious
sensations in class. It also helped all students understand,
appreciate, and brainstorm. The activity increased each
person's imagination and creativity, and the enthusiasm of the
students made the event more energetic and livelier. The event was a
huge success and was a great learning experience as well.

Environment Club
On November 26, 2021, the Environment Club of our college
conducted an activity called "Liveable Earth". The activity included
two events and a short film. The first event was the "Best out of
Waste", which is generally taking waste materials and reusing them
for a variety of purposes. The main agenda behind this activity was to
confirm that we reduce the waste of society. Below are the top three
items made my students out of waste.

The second event, as the name implies, was "Energy Saver". The main
task was to ensure that homes, offices, and facilities use minimal
equipment. Lastly, a short film to create awareness among people.
The theme was, two friends have discovered that a man who
deserves a good package is giving up his job for a larger purpose like
Environmental problems such as climate change and tree planting.
So, every human being has to do their part as much as they can.

Achievement Stories
IMAGINEERS
With the placement season going on in full swing and the batch of
Imagineers pouring their heart and soul into the process, we are proud
to announce that for the month of November, nine students from the
batch have been placed in various companies, such as Tata Electronics,
ICICI, VCEV, DRAUP and Newgen.

Being a fresher from Finance domain there are very

limited opportunities to prove that you actually fit
the roles offered by any company. As the domain
requires expertise and there is very little scope for
mistakes. Getting through the ICICI interview and
with a good position at the same time was
something I was waiting for from the time I joined
ABHA KUMARI
the College. I would sincerely like to thank the
college first of all, for bringing in such an opportunity and then for
preparing each one of us to get through the interviews. It's all because
of the constant efforts of the CMS team and due to their support and
believe I was able to get through it. It finally feels like all the hard work
and patience has paid off. Big thanks to college and all the faculty.

As a fresher, I had my doubts about pursuing MBA

but I can say gladly that SOBD has erased all the
doubts and has seamlessly transformed my MBA
journey. I have seen myself learn and unlearn in the
process of becoming the best version of myself under
the abled mentorship of all the faculty who have
been a part of this journey for me. Am also thankful
CHINMAE DUTT
to the institute for providing me with the
opportunity to work with tata electronics as an HR intern and perform
well. So my 2 cents for all juniors will be to keep your eye on the price
but in the process learn to embrace failure and always be open to
learning new things.

13
The overall experience I had during the
whole placement process was very
as I was able to learn what was important to focus
on during interviews and work upon my
shortcomings. My learnings will stay with me the
way into the future as well. It feels like a massive
SHUBHAM weight has been lifted off your chest once you see
YADUVANSHI that final message that confirms your placement
status. All I can suggest is that you will come across many letdowns but
not letting them ruin your spirit is key.

It's really a great pleasure to be able to select one of

the best banks in the country. I got a lot of support
from all the teachers especially from Ruchi ma'am,
ANB sir and Pulkit Nagpal, and Dikshi Gupta from
place com. I feel really lucky to get an opportunity to
be selected in SOBD.
PARTHA DAS

I was recently selected for Volvo Eicher Commercial

Vehicles, the same company where I completed my
internship, and turning my internship into full-time
employment is a significant accomplishment for
me. I would want to take this time to thank SSOBD,
the entire CMS team, all the faculty members as
KARTIK well as my peers, for always empowering and
MALHOTRA motivating me in every way possible.

I feel honoured to get placed with Tata Electronics

for my final placement. Joining SOIL for pursuing my
MBA has enhanced my learning curve and
personality in every aspect. Through this learning, I
was able to convert the opportunity and now, I am
very excited for the next step of my career and to
learn and grow with prestigious institutions like Tata
Group. I am thankful for the college for bringing in SWATI
the opportunity and for helping me in preparing me SHARMA
in becoming my better version.

14
My experience at Soil School of Business
Design has been completely different in
terms of academics, as it has holistically evolved me
into a corporate-ready individual. It was full of
learning, grooming, and constantly focusing on
redefining a better version of myself. I would like to
ASHUTOSH thank all the faculty members, the Program Office,
GANGWAR the CDS and PlaceComm team for helping me
guide through the placement and in their consistent endeavors to
bring in the opportunities. I have been placed at NewGen, one of the
leading software providers for my dream role as a Business Analyst and
I'm thankful to the Soil Family for professional growth, corporate
exposure, and constant support.

I learned a lot on placement and although it was

obviously great to increase my technical knowledge,
the most important things to me were the soft skills.
My time management, concentration over long
periods, and teamwork definitely improved. I am
placed at Draup with my dream role of a consultant,
and in my journey the entire SOIL family. AVANI DWIVEDI
CMS team was really supportive and they helped me in all possible
ways. Overall my placement experiences have been really amazing
and I am accomplished in my goal.

On the brink of extreme competition, SOIL had

helped me get out of the nutshell, flipping me in the
hands of an MNC, Genpact as Assistant Manager
Data analyst. I started my journey in SOIL as an
ordinary graduate, whirled through one of the most
prestigious companies – TATA Chemicals as an
KAUSTABH DAS Analyst intern. All throughout my preparation
process CDS played an important role in turning me
into an ambivert from a complete introvert. Soil’s excellent vision
which empowers through all the faculties has never made me feel left
out. Even during odd hours, my professors were available to pick up
phones for doubts. Of all the things the best thing about SOIL is its bold
audacity in pushing students to great heights filling up their minds
with enough visions to create an impact in the future.

14

the Incredibles are not behind with respect to the summer

It's truly a privilege to be selected as a part of such a

Pawan Prasad- Sales Intern - Amul Cooperative

This is a great opportunity for me, getting a chance
